Blocked members not fully blocked?

I don’t get the concept of someone being blocked when:
- I still have them in my favorites
- I still see them being online and active
- They still are able to upload new pictures

The only thing which has changed form my point of view is
- I can’t view their profile
- I can’t open my messages with them

Oh and if you think I am talking about someone freshly being blocked… no they have been blocked a couple days ago and today I still see all of the above mentioned as a new activity from them.

Can sometimes tech explain me this inconsistent behavior?

Because the block feature here on Fet isn't a true block. It literally prevents someone from going on your profile/messaging you.

I'm confused. Did you think that by blocking them, you were blocking them from the whole site? That you could cancel them with one click?

That profile has beeing blocked by Fet for whatever reason.

I did not blocked that person nor did that person blocked me.

This is also why I was referring to the term of "blocked" and now seeing that it is causing a lot of confusion because "banned" is a better phrasing.

As mentioned, those profiles are still visible in my search.
And on top of that now. That profile is for me on the iOS app blocked while I can access it via the website which is even more confusing and stupid. So what I am smelling here is some inconsistency on Fet processes.

And one that says this minister has been blocked for not keeping up with the fair use age of the get page

No, it’s not about profile verification. There is a second thing sometimes being seen when profiles are being _removed_ from the Plattform.

It’s because someone has probably reported them. They aren’t banned yet. They can’t send or receive messages or post anything. But their profile is still there.

If you blocked them then I can see this as expected behavior. You haven't removed them from fav/friend so they are still showing up.

If they blocked you and you can still see all this activity this is a bad thing.

Same happened to me yesterday, and luckily I had them on snap before it happened and they said fet blocked their account. But then they unfriended me on snap right after too so who knows

if someone has been removed by Fet, they are removed. It may be it looks like there's activity from them if something was stuck in the cache - but they are gone

We need to talk about cache invalidation if those users are still online after several days. ;)

But again. I don’t think it is the cache. There is something else fishy between the systems. I can access that users profile via my browser but not within the app.

So the scammers *know* they're going to get thrown off platforms, so will try to get people off platform - and the ones which they normally go for are kik, snapchat, telegram (or if they refer to google meet as 'hangouts' cos they're using an old script)

There are numerous scams people run over snapchat - the likely ones given they targetted this site are (a) a classic dating scam - relatively easy to do and low effort / low reward (b) sextortion - bit riskier, but they'll send (stolen) explicit images or recorded videos and ask for similar in return which are then used as a blackmail attempt - riskier / higher reward.

I was one who suggested snap, I find that most of the newer users I meet give up on the app and I wanted a 2nd form of communication In case that happened
