Weird question

My personal insight is that some professions have more women in them and that all sex work (including bdsm) is one of them. If youre curious google 'pink collar jobs.'

Because escorts and many forms of sex workers are already what can be considered "submissives", willing to serve in most activities for a price. And not all prodoms are female! It's just easier and most lucrative for females (consider porn standards, easy to get guys to participate for extremely cheap rates while the starlet is usually the big pull). Likewise, I think it's due to the services offered; I don't go by the term "prodom", but "prosadist", although my services typically includes a lot more control than infliction in most cases.

There are professional male dominants, just not as many.

Pro subs also exist, but will usually work out of a dungeon owned by dominants rather than as independents.

I can't answer that, but maybe for a man it's nice to go to sleep with the thoughts of a. Mistress telling him what to do

Just one of the strange things that pop into my head as I'm about to go to sleep, why do you hear of prodoms but never prosubs, and why are all prodoms women?

you do, there are a number who advertise themselves as pro subs.  Just because this page doesn't have a specific section for them doesn't mean that they don't exist.  If you are looking for them they usually advertise in spanking and BDSM contact magazines.  We used to advertise in telephone boxes but that was outlawed years ago.

There's a fair few Pro Subs I know in the UK - some of which were in a TV series (Channel 5 - The Sex Business.  Series 4, episode 1 - 'Spank Me Harder')

I think most famously in the UK - Alexia Gasp, Little Rabbit, Roxy. Haydies.

But the advertising is rather different and, well, as pointed above a lot of Pro Subs do online or other Full Service work. If you were to browse, say, Adultwork - the amount of ladies who'd include BDSM and receiving is a fair few.

There's a fair few Pro Switches also.  Again most famously in the UK - Foxtress, Estella Bathory, Isabel Dean

-

There are Male Pro Doms, but not many.  A lot of that is a supply and demand thing.

Now. I'm not saying men are easy (I got wrong for that on another thread ;) ) nor am I saying guys have it harder (guys make it harder for themselves, sometimes)

But, say, a new female sub on a community is going to get a lot of attention and if she was like "I always wanted to try..." there'll be plenty of people jump in (some more suitable than others)

If a new male sub did the same - then it's a little "yeah, you and everyone else who masquerades as a sub"

And that might seem harsh - but it's more that - well, male desperation will pounce on any sub.

-

But, hang on - of course... what if it's a male sub who wants a male Dominant?  I think there some options can be a little bit more limited - but - generally the M/m side of the fetish scene is generally away from the main fetish scenes for many historical reasons (I referenced the Spanner Case on another thread - the hetero fetish scene didn't exactly rush to support...)

If you watch watts the safe word on youtube you will find out there's alot more male on male kink than you think.

There's even a gay universal mr leather contest every year. There's all sorts of male on male kink out there. I only know though because of shows i watch on you tube.

I also agree men will pounce on female sub's asking to try things. Its easyer on here for a female sub to get attention of a male dom than it is for a male sub to get attention of a female don't. Or so I'm told from talking to male subs

there is - for sure

but we often don't see so much in the general kink scene - it's more prevalent within the gay scene

In my local area I know of a few.

Newcastle has quite a large gay community and that includes a couple of saunas - one of which I know has a dungeon.

there's also a swingers club, with dungeon, in Durham which has assorted "men only" times

Like I say; I feel for assorted reasons whilst the M/m kink scene is very much out there it generally is it's own different branch to the general fetish scene.

I agree with you. There's a place in my area called the green house for gay and big men only not sure they do kink stuff though.

Iv only ever been to one play space once so not sure what its like for gay guys was lots of different people there. From sissy boy maids to living dolls. Was no furies though. I want a fur suit but so not cheap.

There are pro subs but in reality they are not submissive for someone to submit they have to do it willingly because they want/ need to not because someone is paying them to it then becomes prostitution or a concubine pro/Dom/mes request a tribute which I don’t like but could be considered part of submission so in principle to take payment you have to be dominant

I think a wider question there is where you line up between what is/isn't submission and it drags and awful lot into the "isn't" category.

I guess "Pro-Bottom" doesn't quite have the same ring to it (and means something else in different circles) though Pro-Masochist can often be apt - I know some of these Pro-Subs attract people who like to dish out rather heavy beatings or intense play - and it's still a consensual environment.

But, again on a slight contrary - some of the Pro Subs I know (or know of) have a Dominant (either Mistress or Master) whom they serve as a submissive - but they also sell time (not submission - it's the time that is being paid for) and in that also get extra play they usually enjoy.

Sounds win/win.

I remember ages ago there was a "New Dominant" who was talking about a problem he was having the people wouldn't meet/play/etc with him because he lacked experience but he couldn't get the experience unless someone met/played/etc with him - one such option for him could have been to see a Pro Sub and to discuss that as well as wanting to do certain things he also wanted to boost skill/experience/"be a better Dominant"

It's not something I've ever done - but - it's another option.
