General sites kind of work, but I have to sort through so many ppl among other issues that it would just be a lot better to use one that is actually made for people like me.

It's more of a general dating app/social network without the fine grained controls you might want. I've had some success with OKCupid - the search functionality is really complete and the ability to not appear to people who aren't LGBT can be useful
