Submission & PCOS

Hi All,

Whilst this question is aimed more at the women on the site if any of you guys have any spouses / partners / sub / domes etc. who also suffer with this and have advice I’m always happy to hear and listen 😊

Are the any other women on this site that have PCOS/PCO and find it can interfere with who you feel you are as a sub / dome etc. ? ( For those who are not aware of what this condition is please have a read up it may effect someone you know).

I personally find that some of the side effects make me feel not sexy, ugly and just generally sh**ty. So at times when I feel I should feel strong and confident and proud I feel just the opposite.  I can also get times where symptoms cause me to have low moods and / or discomfort that leaves me less than interested in play sessions when I really want to explore but my body is just not on the same page.

I guess what I’m asking is am I on my own with this or have some of you found ways to cope and manage, maybe ways to work around or incorporate symptoms?

Advice is greatly appreciated as always, thank you x

I have PCOS and generally don’t like my body much at the best of times. My Dom likes *** and belly stuff so actually what I struggle with is that I don’t like myself very much but the things I hate the most about myself he likes. I don’t know what the answer is. I find the mental submission aspect helps. I want to please him and I think getting lost in that helps me to forget myself a bit.

PS: Your photos are lovely. If I looked like you I’d never want to be dressed 😂

I have PCOS. I don’t know if all my symptoms can be tracked to this as there are other factors involved, but typically I had mood swings, high irritability, sensory sensitivity, and, like you said, mind wanting to but body not cooperating. I had been struggling with this and other factors for 16 years. By a stroke of luck, I found a doctor that looked into things deeper. They found that I had incredibly low testosterone so started on a hormone treatment to regulate and  have never felt better. Most, if not all, of my symptoms have gone away. This might be something to check into. In fact, I’d recommend it for all women as so many times symptoms such as sleep difficulty, mood swings, headaches, etc are accepted as “normal” when instead things might be improved by a simple hormone level check. I’m not sure if this is an option in your area as it, for some reason, is a still relatively under-researched area of medicine, but could be worth a shot.

Good luck!

Edit:

One thing I forgot to mention is that if anyone does go to a doctor to check their hormones, find one that either specializes in it or seems to have a focus on it. The reason being... the ranges they use. So doctors use ranges for test results to determine whether someone falls within a “normal” range for their demographic. The difference when going to see someone who specializes or has more of a increased knowledge base on it is that their ranges are more precise. How my doctor described it is that sometimes you might fall into the “normal” broader range but not “optimal” range and that’s why the symptoms are still a problem. That’s part of the reason it took me so long to actually get to a solution is that many other doctors would barely glance at the results, see I fall in normal, and then not investigate further. Very frustrating.

P.S. I’m in the US so this has been my experience. No idea about how doctors in other countries determine their ranges.

Hey jinxy thanks for the advice I've had all the hormone checks and everything is 'normal' I've just started something called Myo Inositol which is keeping some of the symptoms at bay but just need to work on self confidence now. I'm glad it's not just me who has it tho!

Sending hugs and cuddles 🤗

That’s great you’ve found something that works! I hope things continue to go well for you. 😊

I recently was diagnosed with PCOS. I feel as a switch it really help manage and cope with symptoms. My hormonal imbalance really affects my mood, so the whole brain wants to explore but body says no. I understand that. When im on the up side of my mood, im much more into my domme persona, my low levels bring out my sub/little side. Rather than fighting my ebs and flow, im learning to go with them. I peraonally helps me out of my low spells. Whoever you play with, or are with its important to communicate how youre feeling and what you feel during those moments to help best support. My PM is open to any PCOS Cysters out there ❤ community is important and know your not alone ♥

Communication is key. And you dont have to always be strong and confident, it's ok if sometimes you're not. There are times during my cycle where I feel shitty, so unattractive, low, like no one will want me. Other times I feel like I don't want to be touched or be intimate in any way. As said before, communication here. If you are with someone, tell them. There are also times where I'm on top of it, I feel good, and want all the kinky shit, so I make myself remember that this is just a small blip and that it will pass, as it has before. In terms of dealing with the times when I feel not so great, my play partners and friends have always understood and have either made jokes, poked me, cared for me, and ultimately me to look at myself and the situation differently. (All of which helps). This leads to me being more at ease and I've found myself allowing play in those times but maybe in different forms. (Less sensation more impact etc). Physically, I have a large laparotomy scar but i deal with that by hiding it from everyone 😂 x

Thank you Hun and if you have any questions or want any support please drop me a message I'm always here for a fellow PCOS Cyster 😘

I am very lucky the Dom I'm currently with is extremely supportive he is honest to god amazing but some of the responsibility does fall on me I can't ask him to constantly pick me up that wouldn't be fair.

I have noticed when I'm in my really down phase also that I go so much like a little 😂 I just want to cuddle up with my teddies and put my warm comfy pjs on and binge watch Disney 😆

I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2001. I've been on medication since then, just for the *** part of the cycle. What I've discovered for the hormones and other side effects is that diet and exercise really affect everything for me. While not gluten intolerant, I've discovered that certain carbs work for my body and others work against me. With exercise, excessive cardio did nothing for me. Weight training and light cardio (walking or Tai Chi) are the things that help me the best. I've lost 95 pounds and have only recently begun to like my body. I failed utterly to embrace the idea that I was beautiful at any size and I missed out because of that failure. Ladies, you are beautiful inside and out. Your perceived flaws are part of your uniqueness and therefore, part of your beauty. Scars are beautiful because they're a sign of your survival.

Yeah for me I'm more confident after I've waxed my face. A few days before my hair is ready to be waxed when I have the 5 o'clock shadow I feel super unattractive, like a neanderthal. Best I can suggest is make time for self care as it makes a world of difference. No pill seems to get rid of that issue. There's a cream that slows growth down but it only works as long as I use it. As a result Dr's refuse to prescribe it to me any more. Can't afford laser or a personal IPL so my own wax heater is the next bet thing. I try and get a good dosage of sunlight as my moustache isn't as visible when my skin is tanned. The pill has eradicated my acne issues though and keeps my cycles regular. I've noticed scones are very dense and weigh me down so I don't eat them on the regular any more

Oh the high irritability and mood swings I also get hanger issues which are linked potentially to anxiety and depression rather than pcos but I find having a diet full of high tryptophan foods helps as its the precursor to serotonin

I know what your saying I've changed my diet and definitely feel the difference it's just working on that self confidence now 😉

I will have a look at tai chi never thought to do that 🤔 was thinking of maybe looking into pole dancing lessons as they are supposed to be good exercise and do wonders for self confidence 😁

Sending you hugs and maybe have a look at something called hair be gone you use after hair removal and I've heard really good stuff about it, I'm just starting to use it paired with laser so hoping that the mix will solve things a little

I've tired it before but could not get into it as it felt too much like dancing to me where as I kinda see pole dancing as a test of balance, coordinator and strength too but may give them both a look again xx (Added bonus maybe I can find some new ways to tease my Dom 😉 always a good motivator)

Haha that is a good motivator. It definitely looks fun! I’ve wanted to try one of those types of classes but haven’t had the funds.
