we're going a bit OT - but - OK

Personally. I normally get a STI test in a clinic every 3 months.  I haven't been able to get tests since March cos covid but then I've not done anything 'of risk' in that time

I certainly don't feel everyone needs to do this (some a home testing kit every 9-12 months would be enough. Some won't need that.  Some may need to be monthly or even fortnightly with full certifications)

Most of what I do is low, but not no, risk - but kinda... it's good to be responsible and, selfishly, I don't want to miss opportunities because I don't have a clean test.   Whilst obviously the highest risk if having unprotected sex with multiple partners - you can catch STI's from toys and prosthetics - if someone gives me a hand or footjob and I cum also then there's a risk there : and I'd be surprised if anyone caught an STI from a dungeon, if you're in a dungeon or playspace used by others and there's been cum, ***, ***, whatever in the environment - then,  tests for peace of mind is good if nothing else.

I’ve heard people tell someone to toss their toys after breaking up with someone. I’m over here going... I can’t afford to do that! Toys are expensive! Do people avoid this just by using a condom on the toy every use (or other covering depending on the toy)? Or is there something else to help prevent it or sterilize it after? Also, how do long term partners feel about using preventative measures on toys in a committed relationship? Do they take it as a lack of trust?

But if you're even in the position of considering sexual interaction with a stranger you've already weighed the risks against satisfaction. Let's stick to the theme here, unexpected connection with a total stranger, risks accepted. In fact, and this isn't something I condone in any way at all, running the risk of contracting a nasty momento is part of the excitement factor for some people.

Most toys, ultimately, wipe clean.   It's good habit to clean/steralise after use anyway - and that should be OK.

But a lot could also depend on how another person feels.  Like if they don't want to use a toy that's been used on someone else - and if not, but it's something they want to do - it wouldn't be unreasonable to ask them to purchase a new one.

But also, placing condoms on insertables is good practice - and it helps with cleaning also.  Certainly, say it was anal and someone wasn't entirely clean - I'd sooner put a dirty condom in the bin and then clean the toy as normal, than have to scrub shit off the toy ;)

Keeping it going. Went back to the shop, she tried to leave her number, but they couldn't take it, as company policy 🤬
