Do you consider yourself normal?

Define Normal :)

I am continually evolving. Latest rope, which pairs nicely with my love of Far-Eastern culture and with opportunities to practice.

It is like preparing one delicious meal with a set of ingredients only to use the same ingredients in a different way the next day and come of with another equally delicious meal.

Through the eyes of others, very little of my life has been normal, but for me, it is what I know and therefore perfectly normal :)

Lol I would never do anything like that!!!! 😏🤪 And I love the phrase SAM, I use to be full on brat but previous Dom's couldn't handle that but I think the only reason I would brat out was cause I wasn't getting the respect from them and I always pushed but never got anything back from them took me a hell of a lot of time to realize they weren't real D's. But now I'm definitely more a SAM then a brat!! I still do have some bratty moments thou lol.

Ooh what is a SAM? 🧐

@Bounty

Found it after a fair bit of Googling and a terrible memory.

Bounty - The taste of paradise. ( Bounty chocolate bar advertising slogan )   :P

there's a Japer Carrott sketch I once saw on UK Gold and I've never been able to find it online - but - he starts talking about when, say, a kid is picking their nose in public and their mam goes "Stop it, it's not normal" and so the sketch goes on about what *exactly* is normal.

And actually, normal seems boring.

@Carnelian2 Yes normality is all in the eye of the beholder.

Love the meal metaphor there, I am so stealing that one :)

I am functional on a daily basis. Work , pay my bills, take care of family, build healthy relationships, try to be supportive at work. If this are the criterias of normality then I would consider myself as normal. And as every normal person I have my issues 🤔

I doubt that there has been a single moment in my life, when I have been classified as "normal".  Though I have rarely heard, "freak", folks have often said, "maverick", "nonconformist", "obstinate", "contrary", "free-thinker", "artistic", "incongruous", "intractable", "antisocial", and of course, "trouble!"  Needless to say, really long hair and ubiquitous leather (on a guy) are seen as anything but "normal". Even so, there are those who have appreciated my expressions of difference.  They feel that it gives them more room to assert their own individuality.  Still, in my early days, I often had to hear, "Get with The Program!"  To this day, I have yet to figure-out what that "Program" was supposed to be.

LOL That was a blast from the past there Phoenyx. :$ You had to be doing something right.

It would never have sounded the same if people shouted. "Stop using your imagination, Goddammit!" or "Stop thinking out of the box."

I do think the artists, disrupters, free thinkers, and mavericks in general have seen an interesting change from being the people who were the outcasts to being those who are most likely to innovate a totally new product, industry or approach.

As for obstinate I am going to stay quiet on that one and plead the fifth. ;)

Lady Black: brazilian vanilla with dominant side and romantic, crazy, moody, silly.  From the high of my 55, after million tears and anxiety about my way to be, proud to be Normal!

Not fucking normal in the slightest. Always been told I'm weird, essentric, strange, left-field etc.

Never normal. No desire to be.

I am not even sure what normal is.  We say vanilla is normal, but BDSM activity is simply an extension or reflection of vanilla society, with its emphasis on power structures.  The difference being that the Fetish life allows for an element of consent.

I dont think there is a normal.  And I wouldn't want to be one of those 'normal' individuals.

I think normal would include some fetish ideas, like ,say foot fetish, apparently that is quite common, so perhaps start at the other end, like extreme ***, give or receiving, would that be normal, I guess I'm boringly normal, or am l.

*** is just another physical sensation.  Most people find it disagreeable  but some enjoy it.  Many people would say its abnormal to enjoy ***, but that is only because it is not a majority preference!

This might be a bit off topic but here is what I do:

I consider normal or abnormal from my own perspective, with respect to the things I have learned. So people liking different things is normal but people hating each other for the same though considered normal is abnormal to me.

Its like some people not liking oreos or cheese. Its pretty unique but then everyone has different things they enjoy.
