Well Iโ€™m not a makeup wearer myself but like undies I you my baby girl. I find MAC to be very creative for eye color and there is nothing like Chanel for lips and nails. Both kind of pricy but both excellent. MAC and Baby Brown are great for the face in general Urban Decay is another good one for lips. Lots of colors and finishes. But again, nothing like Chanel for lips and nails. Youโ€™ll love the look and especially the feel (so Iโ€™ve been told). Well worth the $35 or so bucks per product. Fun topic for a Sunday Morganna. At least itโ€™s something I know a tad about. Love the makeup counter at Bloomingdaleโ€™s ๐Ÿ˜‚

I used to have a Channel Rouge Noir nail polish back in the day. Not sure my nails did it justice though!ย

Urban Decay do some stuff i would be able to and have some amazing colours. Maybe santa will me some this year ๐Ÿคฃ

I love make up but iโ€™m just not very confident with it. Iโ€™d love a friend where we could do make overs on each other.ย

The best way to become more confident is practise. Watch YouTube videos and see what you like and have a go. There are twin brothers on YouTube called Robert and James Welsh one does make up and one does skin care, both very good for sensible advice. I love Bailey Sarian, just to watch her do her makeup as it's always very dramatic and not every day wear ( for me at least).ย

I loooooove makeup!!! The Welsh brothers are amazing. Yes... YouTube is amazing for tutorials and Pinterest also has a lot of ideas. Makeup offers us a way to create new personalities and find that one that is really strong. Itโ€™s a form of self care and a way to find different pieces of yourself. Iโ€™m a makeup enthusiast ... oh come on Iโ€™m obsessed! Makeup should be a kink!

Do you wear make up more or less over lockdown? Do you feel more confident when wearing it? Do you stick to the same looks or do you like experimenting?ย

What wonderful questions ^_^

ย

Makeup for me is part of Self-Care.

Growing up I was an extreme Tomboy (to the point where Iย was questioning my sexual identity). I never practiced when I was young, nor in my ***s...

It wasn't until I was employed in my mid-20s in a corporate setting job that I finally tried to wear makeup. I did the bare minimum most of the time and used the suggestions on the eyeshadow "kits"... you know the kind I'm talking about, where it has different colours for different parts of the eye & the back of the kit has a diagram on where it colour should go...

Since meeting my current partner, he's enabled me to find my truest self... and much of that is embracing the goth/punk looks I love so much but was never courageous enough to /try.

Now, whenever I'm feeling anxious, self-conscious, and/or depressed, I wear makeup to help build me up. Sometimes I wear it just because (when I'm feeling good) to rein*** the positive affiliation of makeup & joy.

ย

I've worn makeup more in the last year than in the last 10.

ย

I feel very confident when I wear makeup, and even wear it for myself during sexual sessionsย (because my partner is blindfolded most of the time).

ย

I love experimenting. The more I try new things, the more I discover about myself.ย

I have never really been into make up.ย
But I wonder how whether being in a coercive relationship impacted that. I mean I couldnโ€™t wear lip balm to work without an interrogation,

But now my face is aging and sometimes I need a little help.

Also, I quite like the ritual of dressing up, doing my hair, donning some eye liner abs mascara and lipstick. It somehow makes me more confident. But am I hiding myself? Or just highlighting the good bits? Or making the best of me?

I wouldnโ€™t have the energy or inclination to wear make up everyday. But Iโ€™m getting more comfortable with how it makes me feel.ย

I didn't used to wear makeup either for the same reason "why have you got that on?" "Who are you trying to impress?" I don't have that problem anymore and like doing it for myself,ย  I don't wear it every day but usually do to work. It can be creative, I like experimenting with colour. The routine I have for putting it on before work is actually relaxing. I listen to ghost stories and enjoy the process of choosing how I want to look (tired 43 year old is a winner most days!)

Yep same here with my ex!!! Why you trying to make yourself look pretty? There's no use trying to make that ugly mug pretty!!! And now I hardly wear any just a bit here and there when I go out etc. I tend to not experiment anymore either, when I was a goth I'd use all manor of colours and products, but since I got older and away from my ex, I don't have that much now. But one thing I do love, and that's watching my drag queen friends get ready so fascinating to watch the makeup they use and how they ***t their faces also I could sit and watch them all day!!!!!!! ( Which with some of them it does take them all ***y day sometimes lmao!!! )ย
