The thing I find more odd is when someone bursts into the room, saying no-one here then and disappears, god forbid they should try talking with those there rather than sticking to their blinkered view that only people they know are worthy of their attention

They might be looking for someone in particular they need/want to talk to, one of their friends or someone they speak to in confidence. 
 

I’m also not sure what this has to do with the initial post about being able to lurk. Sorry for sounding harsh but I don’t want this turning into a something it’s not.
