Deleted Member Posted January 6, 2021 Posted January 6, 2021 Hummingbird wanted a day off. At least a day. From herself. From the world. From responsibility. But it was impossible. Because days off were so costly. And she couldn’t afford to lose herself and her mind all over again. Though she did not really feel in possession of either of those things. She hadn’t for as long as she could remember. Could you lose something you never had? Could you give it away? Did she need to find it first? Did she even have the energy? So maybe it would just be less of an endeavour to not have a day off at all? To keep hold of her strange imaginings, to extinguish that fire of ***. And just sit and do nothing at all. But she was restless. It wouldn’t be that hard to find an escape. A willing accomplice in helping her forget all about the unrest inside her, for a couple of hours. Someone who would tell her and take her and make her into something else. His. Or maybe even Hers. She looked upon the memory of the last time. The bruises were an ugly kind of yellow now. But she adored them still. They would be gone soon. Perhaps as they faded, so would her neediness. She closed her eyes and lingered upon the memory of it. Each strike, the glint in his eye, his sinister laugh as she struggled. How he pushed her. How she loved to be pushed. And how much his pleasure pleased her. How proud she was to please him. And how she delighted in every twist and pinch and slap and reminder of what she was in that moment. But no, that kind of escape would cost them both too much. So she sat down and decided to do some writing instead.
