what I've found - when folk say, I dunno "90%+" people are fake, what I put it down to is this

If you kinda browse profiles and decide, either all at once or over time, to message - IDK - 20 people.

Within a week you might have noticed, IDK - 18 people read the message.
And some of those replied, the ones who replied were all scammers (because, well, scammers are going to message back because if you've fallen for their scam profile, you've got potential here!) and so obviously this has quite a sour feeling.
The others who read and didn't respond were simply not interested, and you might not take that as being 'not interested' but that, again, they're some kinda fake.

Whilst fakes can be frustrating, whining about them can be counter productive.  Because, well... someone who was going to reply to your message can now see you've been messaging multiple people and that's not a way to make anyone feel special.   People who didn't reply cos they weren't interested, definitely aren't interested now you've called them fake.  And other people again feel you've reached that conclusion through your own thirsting.

Not only that, but it's a form of negging - almost a gauntlet throw "everyone here is fake, prove me wrong" and folk worth their salt see that and don't entertain the notion. They're already now disinterested.
