Life in a Covid world

A poem of present challenges and future optimism. Life will return my friends. Hope you enjoy

Forlorn, a year of misery
Disconnected, a blight in history
Just surviving a soulless existence
A Covid world demands persistence

Friends we’ve met but never in flesh
Dreams discussed and long to enmesh
Desires kindled but flames not permitted
Established partnerships lost and outwitted

Connections made in words alone
Playtime for now at least agone
The joy of touch, now just a memory
A ***ful reminder of another times lechery

A desperate world for now at least
Some time soon we will again feast
Joyful lust will again return
Life’s desires will ignite and burn

So for now we must endure our fate
Use our minds to stimulate
Happier times will soon be here
The joy of touch will reappear

Take care my friends xx

Your words are truly beautiful and wonderful as you are my sweet   I love you to the moon and back for not only your words but for all that you do for others and how tirelessly you have worked and then some during these uncertain times.  With your permission, I want to publicly acknowledge and say congratulations on the very special and official award you received for such and just say I am so very proud of you for all that you have done and all the time you have selflessly given up for others.  So thank you for being wonderful you 💗💗💗😘🧚‍♀️

Again another brilliant poem, @Steve78 and so real and true with the times we are living in at the moment and I truly believe the people on the front line working through all of this ( my *** and my Sir being two ) they need a bigger pay check I honestly can't thank them enough!! ❣️Again thank you Steve for this wonderful poem.

When someone as articulate and creative as you says such beautiful words about my post, it blows my mind.

High praise indeed, I cannot thank you enough. God bless you Lilm and a massive thank you to Sir and *** for keeping this nation afloat.

You start with the core root of the problem; what the pandemic has wrought upon us all as a community.

Then you ***t the picture so acutely with what has happened to the individual; how much we as human beings thrive on physical interaction & what happens when it is denied... how distinctly torturous it is to long for a memory of when we took it for granted.

But rather than have us wallow in the misery, you give us hope... the very thing that has helped humanity persist for our very existence.

What a well rounded story that hits near & dear to many who are battling it all alone.

I felt myself nodding long with everything, as though you had reached through the words to describe my personal life... as well as everyone elses. Excellent & masterful.

@Steve78, maybe your work will convince me to enjoy poetry after all 😁👍🏻👍🏻
