Any aromatics here?

Just a random question. Maybe there's more like me over here.

Years ago a friend called me emotionally immature because I don't "fall in love".

It's true, I'm emotionally immature, but not because I don't experience love the way she or many others do. Then one day, i stumbled across this term and it seemed like the missing piece to a puzzle i couldn't comprehend. I immediately knew.

I do experience 'crushes'. Still feel and care a lot for a person I like. But I've never been "head over heels" for someone. Romantic feelings are just not there. And I don't like to pretend, so on dates I've had in the past (not anymore, thanks covid...) Guys are put off because they perceive me as cold or heartless.

Well that's it. I... Don't know what I'm expecting by starting this topic, assuming it's approved.

take care everyone.

I think you'll find there's far more like that that many realise or want to expect you're not alone, and nothing wrong with just being who you are, blooming hope so anyways, I'm like that. Wouldn't know what "love" is, and I don't know how to be with someone in a loved up relationship sense, certainly don't see myself living with someone ☺️☺️

I’m not aromantic, but I am demisexual.
It produces similar reactions because I don’t feel immediate attraction to anyone. Most people presume I’m not interested.

I fell in love for the first time aged 50. Until then I wondered the same thing about myself.
