I don't think that's true! It's because unicorns are rare and so are people who want a relationship with a couple. Many couples think unicorns are very much of value.

Because it takes time to find and build trust. And you are involving 3 people.

If one person is complex, than 2 people are more complex, add another it becomes even more complex.

The answer is communication, patience, time, and trial and learning.

Unicorns are out there (a label, and I dislike labels) but they are just as complex as you are, and your partner, and deserve every bit of consideration as you and your partner.

Because we’re not your plaything? A unicorn dynamic is unequal and repressive? Maybe because these dynamics seldom occur organically? Maybe you should stop labelling your potential future third a “unicorn” and start actually treating them like an equal figure partner and see if anything naturally grows out of mutual respect.
