Avoid reading post

Why when you block a profile you can still read their forum posts? Would be good to completely wipe out that profile off your feeds??

Think they find it difficult, same goes for chatrooms, you can see others interacting with a blocker but not responses, so I imagine it's quite technical. Though you do find out when you've been blocked that way

I've found I see their posts on the news feed but not on the threads or in chat.. also discovered that it's still possible for blocked members to like a pic, or post, directly from the news feed.

@Brittone2 you could. It doesnt prevent you from posting, it hides what you post from the person blocking you with the option of reading individual, or all, posts from the blocked member.

It’s a big flaw tbh. Would have expect better designed website especially when we pay for it!

@Brittone2 no lol! Why would I? It’s someone else… 🤫

But then there's a lot the site could do but don't on the argument it's how we want the site, numerous things are always being brought up, and brushed off, but this is one of the better sites out there

that sounds like a bug - have you raised it on a ticket?

On forum posts.

I don't believe this is something any site really does - although I know A.N.Other was asking feedback on it

I personally think it would be good to be able to curate a little - as in opt out of seeing even parts of the forum as well as posts by an individual - but I still think if someone starts making comments mid thread then on one hand there's questions on if some of the threads would make sense.  But, there's also a lot of edgecases - like - how it would respond if someone quote-replied someone you had blocked : I know from my experience in IT this isn't as straightforward job as implied.  When, I dunno, if someone has started a thread you don't like you can just... not read the thread.... I guess?

on another famous site if you block or unfollow that person, the feeds stop showing on your wall...so its not that difficult to do?

We could always just... Not read the persons comment? Lol or better yet, just ignore it? Or not be so sensitive, grow thicker skin & allow people to exercise their free s***ch? Idk. Just my libertarian sensibilities I guess lol I get the feeling that this is probably about me & others like me, so I'll just voluntarily remove myself from the forums for a while lol peace 🤘☮️

I guess in part it would create a stilted post, only seeing others interact with someone you blocked, much like disjointed chat in chatrooms because of this

observationally

I know a lot of people asked for it in the chat

I was surprised, but the site did deliver this

and now people complain that the chat makes less sense if people are interacting with someone they have blocked.

(mind: actually, I do massively agree with at least "OK, I appreciate the forum posts staying, but can I please not see them in my newsfeed")

But I have also seen " what are they saying, what are they saying" from people who have blocked someone, along with the obligatory oh, so I've been blocked have I, I haven't even said anything

I don’t use the chat room so not really bothered about that, or to certain extend my own issue. It’s like adverts during your favourite program…ok time to move on, thanks for passing by….
