Deleted Member Posted October 2, 2021 Posted October 2, 2021 I have never been one to post anothers words, but for this I will make an exception. Without the following lyrics it will be hard to explain WHY this particular song resonates so deeply with Me. Have a little read, and I will explain afterwards. Round like a circle in a spiral, like a wheel within a wheel Never ending or beginning on an ever spinning reel Like a snowball down a mountain, or a carnival balloon Like a carousel that's turning running rings around the moon Like a clock whose hands are sweeping past the minutes of its face And the world is like an apple whirling silently in space Like the circles that you find in the windmills of your mind! Like a tunnel that you follow to a tunnel of its own Down a hollow to a cavern where the sun has never shone Like a door that keeps revolving in a half forgotten dream Or the ripples from a pebble someone tosses in a stream Like a clock whose hands are sweeping past the minutes of its face And the world is like an apple whirling silently in space Like the circles that you find in the windmills of your mind! Keys that jingle in your pocket, words that jangle in your head Why did summer go so quickly, was it something that you said? Lovers walking along a shore and leave their footprints in the sand Is the sound of distant drumming just the fingers of your hand? Pictures hanging in a hallway and the fragment of a song Half remembered names and faces, but to whom do they belong? When you knew that it was over you were suddenly aware That the autumn leaves were turning to the color of her hair! Like a circle in a spiral, like a wheel within a wheel Never ending or beginning on an ever spinning reel As the images unwind, like the circles that you find In the windmills of your mind! This reminds me of two things. Firstly, when you come into contact with a like-minded soul that connection starts to build. You have no idea where it will lead, or what paths it will follow, but you go on instinct. During the journey you can go off on so many tangents, explore different ideas and concepts, but they ALL lead you back to that one point...the reason you are there. The randomness of the moments described in the song sum it all up perfectly for me. The second is slightly more personal, and focuses on just two lines.... "When you knew that it was over you were suddenly aware, that the Autumn leaves were turning to the colour of her hair" Redheads. My kryptonite. Stay safe and well out there. x
UK**** Posted October 2, 2021 Posted October 2, 2021 Music has that ability to capture what we feel in such an evocative way. It's so hard to separate the song from the people you had in your life at that time too
He**** Posted October 3, 2021 Posted October 3, 2021 When he and I first connected he said to me I'm going to make you into a music junkie. Not difficult I said because music gets into me like nothing else and sometimes it enters under my skin and stays there. I've had some music make me cry no matter how often I hear it, and it's not necessarily because I relate it to anyone. Sometimes it's the lyrics, sometimes it's the beat itself, a lot of times it's the whole thing. He and I have similar tastes, he feeds me music like you would feed on food, and I love that. I like classical music all the way to heavy metal. I would die without music, he would too.
