Literally a label made up by D-types to describe the s-types they struggle to Dom. There, I said it! A Dominant is a figure of power, elected by the very person they govern. That sounds a lot like democracy doesn't it? Obviously my favorite part of democracy is the part that allows me to take to the streets to demonstrate my outrage against institutional measures, directives or guidelines that are, to use a technical term, bat shit crazy. Power to the people, or at least us subs Power exchange in a relationship is a lot more like democracy than a totalitarian regime. And from all the "how to be a submissive" guidelines I have read, I have the right to speak out, set out my limits and demand justice. And I think that it is mightily offensive that I am dubbed a brat just for questioning a power that I put in place. FYI, the person/s who put you in position of power can just as easily take it from you you know! So, as a human being (and not a brat), it is my responsibility to ensure that the authority that govern me don't think that they can get away with pure tyranny. If I am told not to speak when something stupid (like 6 hours of crappy computer games) is happening right in front of me, then I must raise my voice even louder. It is not okay for the people in charge to waste their time in such frivolity or to curb my right to free s***ch. If I'm told not to eat the ice cream, I'm going to eat all the ice cream until the man who is drunk on power realises what a blatant waste of resources it is to a) buy the ice cream and b) then have to freezer keep it frozen. And if I am being punished for something that I do not agree was wrong then I demand a hearing with an unbiased mediator. Unfair punishment is *** and injustice. It's against my Human Rights and I will not stand for it. Except I will stand on the patio and scream at the top of my lungs about the tyrannous ***s that Dominants are. Respect my democracy. Respect my authority. Because, I am not a brat. So there.

Personally, I’m only a D on the sexual plane. That is, I’m a vanilla and respectful male that understands and agrees with equality for all, when not “playing”. So some of your scenarios are not relevant for me, and a lot of other Dom’s. I can see how the problems would arise for Slaves, however. Though there’d have to be a safe word based time out to negotiate for slaves, otherwise it could get confusing and confrontational.
