strap on strap alternatives

Strap broke after a really fun night with my sub. and l don’t wanna toss the whole thing out. Any advice for re-securing  straps or replacing ?

Cut the old one off. Measure it and use i as a patter. Replace with leather or webbing, which you can rivet and/or stitch.

I use 2 inch wide on the benches I build and q3 pieces stop anybody moving up to 500lbs of weight
