I don't have as much experience as a lot of people in this forum. But one thing that has worked well for me is the absolute simplest: Go be where BDSM activities are happening. Play parties, community events, classes, what have you. That's the best way to meet people and once someone has actually met you in person then they're much more likely to allow you to play with them. I've found that if you're honest about your skill level and are transparent with what you want to do, people are actually quite accommodating.

If you find a way to surround yourself with people who are in to this stuff, you'll get a chance to join in.
