If you're using it on multiple partners then I would say use a condom and then clean it thoroughly but if you only just got one partner you using it on then I would just try to clean it and after every use for a bee to uses then you know you should be good it also depends what type of lubrication you use as well for when you're cleaning your strap-on or toy it's always good to clean your toilet every other time when you use it
