Deleted Member Posted May 25, 2022 Posted May 25, 2022 I’m curious if you guys film yourselves in the bedroom. I do on occasion and love going back to look at it but I’d like to get better angles. Anyone have any tips/pointers on setup/type of cameras?

typhoon2 Posted May 25, 2022 Posted May 25, 2022 The most important aspect is lighting. The best camera set-up in the world is useless if all the action is silhouettes or blurred greyness. Of course bright lights are sometimes a bit of a passion-killer but if filming is the most important aspect then get that right and even mundane kit will get good results. The next tip is to use as many cameras as possible. Two people oftenh means two smartphones so there are two angles covered straightaway. With lots of different views of the same action then you'l be able to grab the best bits for a montage later. Wider angles tend to be better than narrow ones, especially in more close confines. Many dedicated video cameras tend to be for landscapes and similar distance work so check coverage before buying.

You can edit, cut, and remake them easily, even with, windows movie maker. Have a try. Alex Adams uses it and he is a sucess. Hope O have helped you.

I place cameras to film and during sec we move around and end result is that we are out of frame, partially or completely. I advise you to hire or give a friend whom you trust a lot to film you. Best results that way.

Right now I have a go-pro with a tri-pod and a second tri-pod for my cell with its high def camera. But what ever you use. Make sure to pre stage the cameras. So you can verify line of site.
Yourdom-to-be Posted May 25, 2022 Posted May 25, 2022 Honestly if it’s just for yourself the cameras on phones are good enough. So a phone stand is nice for the farther angles and you can always hand it off to your partner to help.

Ca**** Posted May 25, 2022 Posted May 25, 2022 I capture solo stuff alot and I've noticed angles just above or below focal points are best with the right lighting. And for anything off to the side I use the rule of 3rds and try not to have myself in the center ..

Deleted Member Posted May 26, 2022 Author Posted May 26, 2022 I used to when I was younger. Haven't in years. You can probably get a small tripod that's easy to move around so you can reposition it as you change positions or spots. Or just have a friend film for you.

Sometimes it does get overwhelming trying to concentrate on getting good angles, performing and enjoying everything all at once..lol it I must say I'm pretty good at multitasking 🤣🤣🤷🏻♂️
