just a note for anyone who is new and wants to know what is meant by the 'light system' or 'traffic light system'

two ways to use it

one is to place it all on the sub - if they shout 'red' then it means to stop.   Not necessarily the entire scene, but the immediate activity for a check in as of what is wrong.  calling 'amber' means they're at or approaching a limit and so would like the Dominant to ease off a bit.

There is rarely any need to call 'green' but doing so might indicate it is OK for the Dominant to s***d up or go harder.

the other way is for the Dominant to check in on the sub.   There are many reasons why a sub might fight or be reluctant to use a safeword - so particularly if the two are new to playing together it's a way of checking in.   In this case 'red' still means stop, but perhaps they'd been fighting saying it.  Amber again is "I'm at or around my limi" which could signal a toy change or to ease off.  Green means "everything is OK" but tying with the above, the Dominant might then use this as a prompt to ask if they want to go harder of faster.

Malkavian is my personal use one with my partner, a) im a geek and it appeals to me and b) when the hell would I use it any other time lol otherwise red and yellow when with a new partner, easy to understand and generally recognised without an issue
