My Dom does forging and metalwork, as well as lots of other artsy, sciencey work with His hands, and watching Him do His thing, being in His element, I can't explain it but it does something to me. If He lifts me up, gets something down for me I can't reach, or lifts something heavy, it's game over.

From what I've experienced (and can piece together) the arousal comes from 3 things. Exertion and demonstration of strength, demonstration of skill, and lastly the task at hand keeping your focus away from your partner.

Manual labor (fixing anything) does all of this. Added effectiveness if the task also benefits the partner.
