What do you think of race play ?
Is it a turn on or turn off ?
And why is it a turn on / off ?

Personally i dont like race play, and while i get the dynamic i dont understand it.

However i have no problem with others who enjoy it. I also have similar views towards who dress in WWII SS uniforms as part of thier kink.

Each to thier own.

If it's practiced by two consenting and informed adults and doesn't come from a place of bigotry on either part, nor does it impact others (e.g. in a public play area) then whilst personally it wouldn't be for me, and I would have my concerns about the possible drivers behind it, and the potential mental impact, then I wouldn't judge it, but I'm not sure I could condone it either.

For me "NO". I go through enough slient labeling/racism in my daily life, and don't want this in my personal life. Example: I could not really leave my house when Corona started, because of *** being attacked... it did start in Asia. If others play, I have no problems.💖

I've been approached about this, and I can't participate. My view is that it's demoralizing for all involved.

there are a lot of good articles on this on the wider web

one of the major problems of race play is that a lot of people use it to mask their own racism or prejudices.   It is not the only kind of play which can be guilty of this (take any form of punishment play where the Dominant will look for any reason to punish the submissive using harsh play or limits) but it is a big problem

Are you happy to racially *** someone? Why?

Even if it is because what they seemingly want - is there a reason it doesn't go past your own limits?

It's just words, agreed between a dom & sub, to degrade & humiliate, no different really from calling a sub, a slut, a dog, worthless, pathetic, its words the sub wants to hear from their dom, just another form of power exchange or a way to instill inferiority/superiority in a dynamic & if a sub wants to be called by those sort of names, if that is what pleases them, arouses them, then it is up to them & no one else, no matter what your opinion, has any relevance on the subject & have no right to say it is wrong, innapropriate, because its only inappropriate if the submissive says it is.

Im white & have been with a couple subs who enjoyed this kind of play, they wanted to be with someone white, specifically, to live out this role play, this power exchange, to fuel a feeling of inferiority, to be used by a white guy & if they are asking for it then how can it be racist, when that language has been asked for & condoned, completely different to going up to a stranger & just abusing them racially.

Its like with any other aspect of dom/sub & bdsm, if you like it, do it, if you don't, then don't, but you can't tar people as racist just because they enjoy race play in a dom/sub scenario.

Thats my biggest issue with race play. I wonder if there are different perceptions depening on the ethnicity of the people in the roles.

For example is a white dominant non-white slave dynamic more abhorent than a non-white dominant and white slave dynamic? Especially if racist language is used.

I half joked about something with a Black Mistress - and - like, if she had done any form of racial *** play against me - we're in the UK which is a massive white majority, I still have a lot of upperhand.  If we left the dungeon and headed in opposite directions - she would be the one most likely to suffer racism on the way home.

It's not a level playing field

I know its not a level playing field, its part of the reason i asked the question to examine why it may be viewed that its ok if the person from the minority is the dominant.

Yes, and agree only in play. The problem is some men/women are not intelligent to know "Only when the person (minority/ethnic) wants this". I will be honest, if a person wanted race play with me... I will wonder if he is racist, and using it as a hidden agenda.

I would be OK to engage in race play if it is a major turn on for my sub. To me it is just another variant of *** play, I don't humiliate or degrade because I believe in any factual justification for my insults but exclusively for the dynamic. What turns me on is the reaction of my sub and not the subject of the *** itself. I fully understand if people don't like or even feel repulsed by race play and I would never do it with someone who didn't specifically request it and/or might feel hurt because of it.

I see your point but if you look at things realistically, someone who is racist, isn't really going to choose to be in a dom/sub relationship with someone of another race, they would most likely be looking for different subs, for one offs, just to get their kicks, so I feel its quite easy to see a difference between a racist & someone in to raceplay, the signs are there as it won't be mutually agreed & desired, it would be a case of "I'm going to do this & you will accept it" - it's just like any aspect of dom/sub & bdsm, there are those who will try to push more extreme things on you rather than it being mutually agreed & if that's the case just don't meet or agree to be that person's sub.

Please excuse me, I was looking at it realistic. Actually, there are racist that will go with another race just to enjoy their sadism to give hell "til it ends". It is a joyride for them. Good example is Breadcrumbing. These people who Breadcrumb, they don't care about the other person. They only do it for amusement, or to "use" the person for some benefits of some kind.

Race play? Lol not familiar with the concept. Sounds interesting, but I also bet there's loads of people just waiting to be "offended" by it lol so I think I'll keep my distance from this one

I'm going to agree and disagree with you.
.
In relation to anyone, regardless which side of the slash they fall consenting to raceplay of any description, no bother, fill your boots. Informed, enthusiatic consent is consent.
.
On the flip side, I think that we need to consider the history of racsim that people of colour have experienced for decades upon decades which we, as white people, may empathise with but can never truly understand. I think that we need to avknowledge that this will be a significant factor as to why some can't consider it let alone condone it.
.
In as much as racists not seeking out POC to fulfil their racist tendencies? I think that that's the same as saying that people who are known perpetrators of domestic/sexual *** from one relationship to the next don't seek out people to deliberately manipulate/gaslight and ultimately physically/sexually *** them.

I don't like this either, and NEVER do it.💖 Had couple of Caucasian Submissives mentioning this was one of their desires. This turned me off. I won't lie, there are some ethnic/minority people who enjoy being dominate on Caucasians. In fetish/porn movies, alot only do it for the ***.$$$€€€£££

Ive heard of it... but i won't lie.. i have no idea what it is or what it involves.

I dont like any form of racism or derogatory slurs and demeaning. Physically or verbally.

My mother was half hispanic / black (this is all i know about her past). I have some of these within my genetics. I feel with my upbringing as rough and tumble as it was, racism wasnt tolerated in any form within my family.

For me due to this even though im uneducated on it.. i dont think i could comfortably partake in this kink. Even if a partner was black, white, asian.. theyre all human beings to me and i just cant see skin colour as a factor when i think of someone.

And i dont know what the kink is about and what is and isnt deemed acceptable and one wrong word could tear down a scene, dynamic and relationship.

Except ofcourse where prediscussed boundaries are.. but that wouldnt even be a conversation id bw comfortable having.

Perhaps i can learn a thing or to about it from this thread.. but i still wont act within that kink.

People are just people to me.

I’ve been asked to do it, I refused. It’s on my hard limits. I cannot condone it. I support informed, consensual choice by the people involved but it’s not something I feel able to participate in, my feelings about the subject are too strong. I’ve met people who wanted *** based on other characteristics that I’ve also refused.

We have something in common. I am mixed Asian and multicultural as well. My stepfather was Irish, Scottish and English. I really understand the Irish. Our family was "We are the World".🤦‍♀️😂

The *** aspect is a hard limit for me personally, but I could see how body worship could be fun as I find all races beautiful in their own way. I'm very supportive of BIPOC who find empowerment through raceplay if that is their thing.

not sure what race play includes, for example I enjoy a lot of role play that is based on fantasy stereotypes, dancing girl for an Indian man, harem girl for a Turkish one and with a black guy I used to know we rp ed ancient Egypt me as a northern slave girl he as an Egyptian nobleman, heck I've even played celtic slave girl to an Italian dressed in a toga, is any of this race play?
