Ke**** Posted March 22, 2023 Posted March 22, 2023 In the area I'm in, I'm having trouble finding a job. I'm looking with my cousin and his wife and they help me apply and I go to the interviews (if I get one) then get ghosted. a few weeks or a month ago I got accused of not wanting a job, Like I'm trying. but no matter what I do it just doesn't seem good enough. my mistress had asked me to talk to her about it (three days ago was when I asked her to talk to her about it) so she gave me permission and asked for the details. when I explained the situation to her and explained I haven't had a job for a year or two (I'm really struggling finding a job and I'm contemplating moving somewhere else to try and help me get a job) she angrily typed to me, Talking about how it was unacceptable that I hadn't had a job yet and how she was demanding me to find a job and get one (like I haven't been trying) so I snapped and angrily typed back to her that I have been trying to get a job then already upset that she treated me like some lazy a** who doesn't want a job I blocked her. I'm just wondering if I'm in the wrong on this or not.
fa**** Posted March 22, 2023 Posted March 22, 2023 She could been getting angry because she’s disappointed and putting a thumb up your a*** to keep applying use her energy as an advantage feed off it ask her what she wants you to do instructions and guidance you need to win her back by being a good boy.

ma**** Posted March 22, 2023 Posted March 22, 2023 Try health care, there's a large national shortage
ey**** Posted March 22, 2023 Posted March 22, 2023 Long term unemployment can be difficult - obviously on yourself but also sometimes those around you : especially if say a Mistress or partner is picking up some of the weight if you are not in work. Whether you were wrong or not depends on missing context - but being angry with each other helps nobody. A lot depends on why you are constantly being overlooked for jobs. As well as warehouse work mentioned above there's also a lot of vacancies in service industries. But, also, there is a case of is there any skillsets you are missing? Can you self train/learn? I was out of work for about 5 months a long time ago - and, I had this problem that my skills are kinda... a low wage job isn't going to give me work because they know I will be constantly looking for something closer to my skillset. But jobs in my skillset, there was competition between candidates. So, some of my week when I wasn't job hunting, I was spending time skilling up.
su**** Posted March 22, 2023 Posted March 22, 2023 Get into land surveying………it’s almost a dying industry(because no one wants to be in the elements) but everyone needs us us
ro**** Posted March 22, 2023 Posted March 22, 2023 Boss I really hate to say this I don't kind of know your situation however I moved to Roanoke Virginia about 3 years ago and because I don't actually know anybody and it's a smaller area people are really really hesitant to give me jobs... Because I'm not local and it seems that John does buddy's kid always has an interview after me or I just don't speak East Coast Southern well enough for people to consider me for employment... And my wife reads on me about it all the time I also have a violent felony and a smashed left hand that hardly works so the few jobs I am qualified for like Burger King I get passed over because I'm not local
Deleted Member Posted March 22, 2023 Posted March 22, 2023 Bro just sign up for agencies in your area or close to your area. Especially with warehouses. I've seen people who can't speak a word of English get hired. You'll be fine 🤞🏽😅
ro**** Posted March 22, 2023 Posted March 22, 2023 Well like with me there are no agencies to sign up with around here all the warehouses are industrial jobs like a transmission part plant and those are hard to get into if you don't know anybody you need a referral for a lot of those places cuz they have 200 applications on the desk
Deleted Member Posted March 22, 2023 Posted March 22, 2023 I would say you are in the wrong and obviously you don't want a job. You could literally work for mack Donald. They will hire you even if you have no experience.
Deleted Member Posted March 22, 2023 Posted March 22, 2023 Absolutely you were wrong, sounds like you're a f**king slouch
Ze**** Posted March 22, 2023 Posted March 22, 2023 (edited) Nobody is wrong here, ignore the negativity. It's likely that your Mistress has either been in a relationship before with someone who did not pull their own weight and it worries her that you're jobless, or, she has just encountered people in the past who did not work to support themselves and this hurt her in some way. She only failed to try to understand where you're coming from. My advice would be to start using websites like indeed and monster*, and don't use apply online, call the businesses too after you've applied, and make sure you have a nice looking resume. Good luck Edited March 22, 2023 by FETMOD-TF *External link removed
ge**** Posted March 22, 2023 Posted March 22, 2023 OP ignore those that don't know you or the absolute context who are diving in and saying you're in the wrong or calling you names, or even saying it's easy - because it isn't always, and no-one actually knows the full situation beyond those yourself and those that know you. . About the only post worth paying any attention to so far is the one from @eyemblacksheep - look at how you can skill up in things that may be available locally, consider temp/agency work if possible - when I was laid off 20 years ago, and my industry was on the ropes that's exactly what I did, signed up with a few agencies and got some temp work filing and the like until I could find something more at my level. . Ultimately though only you can know how much time and effort you're putting in. . As for whether you're wrong to have reacted the way you have with your Mistress, when someone calls you out the way she has it's natural to react and for it to sting - it may also depend on how well she knows you, which it doesn't sound like she does for it to have surprised her the way it obviously did - what you do from here though is up to you on both counts
Da**** Posted March 22, 2023 Posted March 22, 2023 In this job market there is no reason to go jobless for a year or two. Find out why you're being rejected and fix the problem. The problem is you not her -- pull yourself up by your bootstraps and stop complaining.
Deleted Member Posted March 22, 2023 Posted March 22, 2023 Your “mistress” is mad because you can’t give her *** if you don’t have a job. Try a real live relationship. You didn’t say where you live or what work you’re looking for so I can’t offer advice on whether to move or not move or get more training. No clues there. But I can tell you that your “mistress” is a fake relationship. In my experience most restaurants are begging for help right now, if you have a car you can try gig delivery. There really isn’t any reason you can’t find some kind of job in a large area. But I have no idea where you are.
Gr**** Posted March 22, 2023 Posted March 22, 2023 Imo if your mistress wanted you to have a job then she should have been helping you get one. She can criticize too if that is pat of your regular dynamic. You can’t really ask “am on in the wrong?” Because no one on these forums knows how your relationship with your mistress is. I don’t know where you live but jobs like waitering and driving are always available if you are physically able to do them.

Pull yourself up by your bootstraps is a silly saying that is actually impossible to do. Are there jobs yes- are there jobs in his skill set? We don’t know. I’ve been unemployed for 3 months and it’s not for lack of working connections, applying and taking classes. Lots of people are looking for a job some jobs have 200 applicants. Sure could I work as something else? Absolutely but would it advance my career - no.
cu**** Posted March 22, 2023 Posted March 22, 2023 Don’t listen to the “pull yourself up by your bootstrap” people cause they are idiots… talk to your friends and fam cause there is probably a job out there you are over looking. Have you had any interviews? Don’t show up too early for them and prep you will be aight
