Deep with in, you’re wrestling a storm
Desperately fighting against this new norm
The wind whips and threatens to break you
Leaving their bruises from our last adieu
.
The dust settles and you catch your breath
What is this living death?
Your world was once shiny and bright
Now it’s filled with devastation and blight
.
You take a shaky step towards the setting sun
Resigned to the fact that what’s done is done
Your focus stays fixated on the dehydrated earth
Wandering aimlessly, not knowing which way is North
.
The wind picks up once more, this time with a gentle caress
Your heart starts pounding with familiar distress
Uncertain you can bear much more
Who are you anymore at your core?
.
Covered in dirt, *** and tears
You take a deep breath preparing to face your ***s
The wind violently sucks the air from your lungs
A new journey has begun
.
