Am I strange!

one of the kinda things is that sex, gender, sexuality, etc. is nowhere near as simplified as what we are initially taught.

A very simple example is that GCSE/High School Biology is "there are two sexes (mumble mumble intersex)" and A-level/college Biology is "there are six common sexes"
It's why when people who are only attracted to cis women say "Biological female" they don't really know what they're talking about since they don't know the chromosome pattern of the other person - and this is before we get into that brain, body and reproductive system can have different biological sexes.

I want to keep that bit short.   But there's a lot that gets complex because we like to think of things as a kinda straight/gay/bi when those are also just headline terms.

There's words we see creeping up on sites all the time "Demisexual" being only attracted to people someone has an emotional connection with - or - "Sapiosexual" being only attracted to intelligence.   But then there's assorted other words which often define the type of people we are attracted to and this gets insanely complicated - so, often no wonder people stick to the headline terms

There was a study done of cis men who included trans women in those they were attracted to and around half identified as straight and half as bi, it's unknown of those in the "bi" how many were attracted to cis (or trans) men - but really, how you kinda define is with you.

But if someone described themselves as 'bi' I would expect them to generally be attracted to women and men - not cis women and trans women.

Similar studies generally found that cis men who would date someone trans is around 3% - so - a minority, but not an abnormality.  Mind, if we remove 'dating' and replace it with any form of other fantasy, fetishism, attraction - the number is going to be a lot higher.

So anyway... in terms of "am I strange?" not at all - probably not in a majority but not an obscure minority.

we all have our preferences. if you're into it, you're into it, that's more important than what kind of language we use about it : )

I'm bisexual and a dominant. I like both men and women, both show a different type of fun then the other but I'm not really going to say that people don't look at me as I'm strange but I'm proud of who I am, my sexuality, and what I like. I never deny any of it.

With that being said everyone is strange in someone else's mind and eyes. It shouldn't really matter if you are confident in who you are As a individual and have excepted your self all in all. As long as you do those things and are completely and totally honest with yourself then it shouldn't matter. People are judgemental it's in their nature you can't deny that it's whether or not you actually have self confidence, self image, self esteem, exceptance of ones self, and respect for yourself that makes the difference on how you see yourself and think about yourself.

If you're attracted to cis women and trans women you're still straight, cis or trans, they're both women. I hope that you can explore this if you wish to, there's nothing wrong with finding different types of people attractive, regardless of whether they're cis or trans, and if they're trans, whether they've had surgery, will have surgery, or won't have surgery.

To clarify some misconceptions I've seen in the thread, liking a trans woman as a straight man does not make you bi or gay. Trans woman and transgender are not different things; trans woman is short for transgender woman. Transgender is an adjective, which mostly gets used as a noun by people who are unfamiliar with trans people. I cannot speak for everyone, but not many trans people view themselves as 'men who turned into women' or vice versa.

Hope that helps, and good luck on your journey, you are not strange for having this desire, though even if you were strange, there's nothing wrong with that either.
