The Sneaky Trap

We all love getting rewards right away. But what's happening to us now is because of things we did or didn't do a while ago. Whether it's about work, relationships, or ***, it's all about choices we made earlier.

The Two Sides of the Coin: Action vs. Inaction

Understanding the idea that our actions have consequences means realizing the cost of being lazy and the good things that come from sticking with something. Being lazy might feel nice at first, but it's like not watering your plants—they'll eventually stop growing and die. On the other hand, working hard pays off in the long run.

How to Make It Work for You

1. Set Exciting Goals: Start with goals that really excite you.
2. Break Them Down: Divide those big goals into smaller steps, and celebrate each little win.
3. Be Patient: Think about how what you're doing now will help you in the future.

Think of every choice you make as a stone thrown into a pond, making ripples that go far into the future.

What kind of impact do you want to make?

Can you wait patiently for the good things that will come from your efforts?

Can be detached from the outcome enough to be in the present moment?

I love the sense of serenity this poses, the mindful practice encouraged by patience and working toward something you need or desire. The slow unwrapping of a gift and folding of the paper to reuse it can be more satisfying than tearing it apart.
