I would like to re-itterate a lot of what has already been said. Knowing yourself as well as knowing your sub is one of the most important things. Being able to communicate openly and honestly without *** of reprisal or condemnation is something that may be difficult for some at Read more… the start. the more you do it the more it helps to build the trust between you both. Social conditioning can make it difficult to break through those barriers but with patients and support I'm sure you will.
I agree with the task suggestions that have been given to you to get her to open up about what and how she sees the dynamic as being and becoming.
I would also suggest that you actually complete the same thing from your own perspective. She doesn't have to know about it but it will help you to see where you align and where you may not as well as help you to understand yourself better.
