This introductory class discusses being a trauma-aware kinkster. From being awareness of spacing and distance to setting up a play space and write advertisements for events, all kinksters can use trauma-informed mindfulness to create safer spaces.

You will learn what trauma is (and what it isn't), how it happens, about trauma dumping, trauma reactions, post-traumatic growth, secondary trauma, intergenerational/racial trauma, trauma from ***, trauma experienced by BIPOC/LGBTQIA+/minority individuals, and more.

Note: This class is for education purposes only. This is not a therapy session, support group, place to discuss details of traumatic events, debate the validity of trauma, etc.

PRESENTER:

Ember has been active in the BDSM community for about a decade. They are a social scientist, psychologist, neuroscientist, and social worker. They research emotions/emotion regulation, interpersonal relationships, trauma, addictive behaviors, etc. They are also trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Interpersonal Therapy, the Gottman Approach, and more, but do not currently practice. They primarily work in academic research. Ember dabbles in professional BDSM and provides kink/sex education. They have a Primal Mate dynamic with their partner, and explore the boundaries of S&M/Edge Play, Primal Play, Femdom, and many other interests with their play partners.

TICKETING:

$15 - $35 in advance. Please pay at the level you can comfortably afford.



We offer a sliding scale, so that cost is not a barrier to attendance.

The regular ticket is $25. This is what most people should pay.

The $15 ticket is offered for those for whom the $25 ticket would be a barrier to participation. If $25 is too much, we take your word for it! Just pay $15.
