Everyone has an opinion on pubic hair, their own or someone else’s. Some people don’t care much about the bush (or lack of it), and some people care very much. Let’s get a few things straight about pubic hair removal:
1. Not everyone, kinky or vanilla, removes their pubic hair.
2. Plenty of people appreciate full bushes.
3. Not everyone who shaves or waxes is going for the pre-pubescent look.
And not everyone who gets rid of their bush is female, although pubic hair removal is much more widespread among women. Guys go hairless too. I’m firmly on the side of you can have my Brazilian wax when you pry it from my aesthetician’s cold, dead fingers. But not everyone can stand the idea of hot wax on those most sensitive parts, and that’s okay, too.
You can always shave, but watch out for stubble - it itches like crazy. Or ignore the wax and the razor and let it all hang out. Why do so many people seem to bare it all, and why do others grow out their bush? The simple answer is that we’re all individuals, but let’s look at our pubes a little closer.
While plenty of people blame porn and all the instantly orgasmic smooth pussies as the reason, so many of us remove our pubic hair, that isn’t the only reason. I began getting a monthly Brazilian wax when I was single, and the only sexual action I saw was my right hand. I’d never even seen porn at that point, and I didn’t care if anyone saw my pussy.
I loved how clean and smooth I felt. Pubic hair serves a purpose, but I hated it. I’m not the kind of girl who has a soft, silky bush. Nope, mine is more like a Brillo pad. For those who think I do it to keep my Dominant happy, think again. That’s a nice bonus, but I started it and still do it for myself. Yes, some Dominants prefer their submissive partners to be hairless, but it’s not merely for the looks. Pubic hair removal makes you feel so much more when you’re playing or fucking.
You can also see how pink the skin gets when you become aroused, or your genitals are tortured with a crop, clamps, or your Dominant’s bare hand. It’s sexy, fun, and over-stimulating, which is probably the point. Your partner has access to every inch of your most sensitive parts. Personally, the day or two after a wax, my orgasms are better, and getting eaten out is sublime.
Pubic hair removal isn’t for everyone. Some people like their pubic hair (maybe you have that silky, soft kind I keep reading about in erotica). Others don’t want the expense or the bother of keeping it bare. That’s okay, too. And if pubic hair removal is a hard limit for you, make sure your kinky partner knows that up front. You can always change your mind later, but your limits should be respected.
There are legitimate health reasons to keep your pubic hair right where it is. Firstly, pubic hair prevents friction during sex. Of course, you might enjoy the sensation, but for some people it’s unpleasant. Moreover, pubic hair protects your skin from cuts and scrapes, and removing your hair will cause bumps, rashes, and ingrown hairs that have to be dealt with.
Unfortunately, without pubic hair, it’s easier to share STDs like herpes or genital warts. Make sure both you and your partner get tested, and if you have multiple partners, keep getting tested.
Like everything we do in kink, there is no one right answer. If you and your partner love the sweet tingle of skin on skin with no pubic hair in the way, shave all that hair off. If you hate spitting out the curly hairs that get stuck in your teeth while going down on your partner, see if they’ll wax it off.
On the other hand, if you like your bush and refuse to be separated from it, do your thing and let it grow wild and untamed or give it a haircut. We all do this kink thing differently, and that includes whether we keep or remove our pubes.
