New Year, New Play | What's on Your Kink Bucket List 2023?

What's on your kink bucket list in 2023? It's not all gym memberships and fad diets – our BDSM writer Molly thinks about some fetish and BDSM play you could indulge in next year. 

It is that time of year when we all start to look forward to the New Year and think about what we want next. Many of us will even sit down to write a plan for the year ahead, covering topics we want to achieve professionally and personally, such as trips we want to take, events we want to go to, and people we want to see. But how many of us include kink and sex in our to-do list? Well, I am here to encourage you to do exactly that. Write a kinky plan for 2023, thinking about new things you want to try, as well as the stuff you definitely want to do again. Here are some ideas you might want to consider for your 2023 kinky bucket list. 

Add sensory deprivation to your kink bucket list 2023

The most common forms of sensory deprivation play are blindfolds and gags. Both hugely common within BDSM play – and for a good reason – because depriving someone of one or more of their senses can help heighten the whole experience. It also goes hand-in-hand with humiliation, bondage and impact play, so why not try expanding your sensory play game to include hearing deprivation. Two possible options include depriving someone of their hearing with some noise-cancelling headphones, or controlling exactly what they hear by making them listen to something specific. Play them some audio porn or erotic ASMR. Combine it with a blindfold and I guarantee you will take your sensory deprivation play to an entirely new and intense level.  

Virtual live-streaming

The pandemic has made it tricky to get out and meet kinky people IRL. Kinks like swinging or impact play events have largely been off the cards, but there are ways you can explore your kinks in a public way – virtual live-streaming. If you like the idea of watching others, this will definitely work for you. And if you are into being watched, it works for you too! My advice is to be brave and try a bit of both. Unleash your inner exhibitionist in 2023, but remember: in a safe and consensual environment. 

Keep a kinky diary

Keeping a diary is a common New Year’s resolution for many of us, but often it is a short-lived self promise. Journaling is a great way to order your thoughts and check in with yourself, so why not also include chronicles of your erotic life too? Depending on how much time you have, you can write something down every day, or maybe just spend an hour or so once a week to jot down kinky things that pique your interest. By the end of 2023 you will have a whole year's worth of filthy thoughts, ideas and experiences preserved. 

Have a threesome

Hopefully 2023 will bring more freedom to play with others, so maybe it's time to start planning that threesome you have always fantasized about. Or you have a cuckolding or cuckqueaning fantasy you would like to explore, you would like to be shared by two dominant partners. The possibilities are endless. The biggest hurdle when it comes to a threesome is usually finding the third to join you. Spend some time dating like you would if you were looking for any sort of partner, and if that does not work out then hire a professional. Pegging has become a much more widely accepted kink activity. It seems more and more people with a prostate have discovered just how amazing it feels when stimulated. If you have never tried pegging, think about adding it to next year's bucket list. 

Hire a dungeon

While you may not feel comfortable attending a kinky play party due to Covid fears or playing in public, you don't have to miss out on the BDSM dungeon experience. There are numerous private dungeons that you can rent for a few hours, a whole day, or some even do overnights with a fetish bed and breakfast included. Do your research and find a BDSM dungeon that matches the kind of kink play you're looking for. 

Take a kinky class

Lots of fetish fairs have workshops and classes you can take, and there are also some fetish events/conferences that promote BDSM education. There are also plenty of online classes which you can attend from the comfort of your own home.
