I was out with a group of girlfriends a while back, and when the subject of sex came up, it became apparent that they all avoided sex during their periods. At first, I was shocked at how disgusted they seemed by the very idea of it because, for me, it's something I've always done. I had no idea that period sex was so taboo. So, on doing some research, I’d like to share why everyone should give period sex a try. You could be missing out on fantastic sex for an entire week of the month! Here are my top ten reasons why I think period sex is awesome.
All those hormones racing around your body means the most random things can turn you on to the point where you need a good fucking or a powerful orgasm so run with those feelings and see where the excitement takes you.
We all love something naughty and a bit taboo, which makes it even more of a turn on. I have a BDSM fantasy of a guy forcing himself on me, realising I'm on my period and calling me a filthy bitch, smearing my blood on me, forcing me to taste it, you get the idea. (Obviously, not everyone enjoys the same kink, but that's just me.)
Sometimes on your period, nothing is going to help with cramps, and you want to lay there with a hot water bottle, loads of chocolate and die slowly. But there are times where if the mood strikes you and you ignore your cramps an orgasm can relieve that tension in your tummy, and you can feel much better afterwards.
Feeling grumpy? We all do at some point during our period, but sex and especially an orgasm can help cheer you up! Sex studies have proven that women's brains 'switch off' during sex, including areas involved in anxiety and alertness. So give your mind a rest with an orgasm!
We can all feel gross during our periods, especially with spots, headaches, cramps, and whatever else crops up, making us feel unwell or ugly. Having period sex can give you that boost reminding you that you're still sexy as hell and your partner still wants to hump your brains out no matter what nature is throwing at you.
Period Sex. Sexy as hell?
People are often put off sex during their period by the mess - blood on fingers, sheets, cocks and even lips. If the mess is something you're worried about, then perhaps have sex in the shower or enjoy a hot, soapy shower or sensual bath together afterwards. Or, if you're feeling a bit kinky, make your partner clean that blood off your fingers/cock/lips with their tongue.
In my experience, all my previous sexual partners haven't been fazed by period sex at all. I always made the assumption they won't want to go anywhere near me, but it turns out they don't care. But, this is something to discuss with your partner(s) beforehand, obviously. My current partner sometimes rips out my tampon and casually tosses it to one side before fucking me, and boy is it hot!
Everyone's bodies are different, but generally, you tend to be more sensitive around your period, so having your partner play with your nipples or kiss your neck could lead to extreme, begging arousal or maybe even orgasm without anything getting in your pants.
If period sex is new to you, this could be an excellent opportunity to try something different. As mentioned earlier you could try shower sex to avoid a mess, or if it's a mess you're worried about, get your girl to keep the tampon in and give her clit some attention. I get turned on by giving my man head when on my period, and of course, there's always anal play, which if you've never tried before, now is a perfect time!
Maybe not for everyone but, if you and your partner(s) want to get a bit more adventurous with blood play, you've got blood at your disposal without having to cut anyone. Some people enjoy writing on their partner during sex (slut, whore, cum-guzzler etc.) and using blood is so much kinkier! Depending on you role, you can exert Dominance by smearing blood across your partner(s) face or forcing blood-soaked fingers into their mouth.
Whatever gets you off when on your period, roll with it and have some fun because it can be a miserable time if we let it. Let's give ourselves something to look forward to when we see that blood appear this month and get some period sex on the go!
