Whatever is causing the problem, getting around is laborious, and that is something the administrators have to address in order to improve their users experience. The signup is free and doesn't ask much of you, tick the box for what you’re looking for, mention your taste in music and films, and then you’re done. The trouble is, it takes so much time for each process to be accepted, then the confirmation email to be sent. This is a slow burn enrollment and leaves you wondering why you’re bothering.

Inside there’s more bad pain; a Sluts in Bondage banner complete with dead-eyed girls in latex is centre stage - it’s just too commercial and bland. Fetish dating sites are for deviants and this hetero-centric vanilla porn looks tired and doesn’t relate to the sexy, inventive and adventurous side of BDSM activities.Once you’re properly signed in you can add to your details and explain what you’re after, be it friendship, dating or one-nighters. There is also the space to expand on your cultural preferences and a chance to read about the sites history.

BDSMFace's motif is a winged triskelion, with chains holding it down. It is explained that the image symbolises the struggle in which the fetish community is engaged, being part of a subculture that is misunderstood and not always free to express itself openly. It’s very poignant until you remember the latex girl’s ad from page one, then it just looks like meaningless marketing.

According to the homepage, this is a dating site with 9000 members. However, they are very much geared toward the Spanish-speaking market where they claim to be the most popular BDSM lifestyle site - you can view the pages in English or Spanish. One thing that marks www.bdsmface.com out from its competitors is the game play option, this won’t be for everyone but if you enjoy a little sim based cosplay you’ll love the 3D world they give you access to through Google Chrome.

Members are given a house and the chance to explore further, meeting other people and chatting in a virtual context. If you prefer your sex play to be hands on, this is never going to peak your interest, but sexy online interaction is experienced by many people as a form of foreplay.

The groups are pretty basic and oddly inaccurate at times, although this maybe due to certain words getting lost in translation. The ‘Self Bondage’ group is subtitled ‘For people who enjoy tying up other people’, but erotic self bondage is very much a one person pastime. BDSMFace has two issues, the first is a reliance on soft-core porn for its revenue and the second is a failure to communicate fully with English speakers. This is a general fetish site with a number of interest areas, but for US and the UK, BDSMFace refers to specific role-plays, like a face fuck or facesitting. At the moment this site doesn't have it together, the membership profiles seem bare and the language barrier jolts every time it pops up. Hispanic users might appreciate the familiarity, but for the majority of users, BDSMFace needs to try harder.
