It's right there in the title, kinkydatingsite.com, you know what you're getting into from the moment you arrive. The tag line says 'No matter what your taste in pleasure, take your pick of women and men who want to do it with you.' But how kinky is it and how likely are you to get a date? Let's find out!
There's no doubting you're on a kink site when you open Kinkydatingsite.com. The photo on the front page when you arrive is of a naked woman crawling with a flogger in her mouth. However, the caption to say it's a 'real member profile' makes me wonder why they need to convince you there are real people on the site?
Kinkydatingsite.com very much looks like you're signing up to a porn site and when you log in you do see lots of porn adverts, so not great for browsing in public. Otherwise, it's quite generic looking with member photos in the middle and your main actions in the top bar with a bottom bar full of other useful links such as FAQs and online dating tips.
Welcome to kinkydatingsite.com!
It's super easy to sign up to kinkydatingsite.com, all you need to do is answer if you're male, female or a couple (not great if you're non-binary is it?) and a few other general questions and boom, you're in.
To use kinkydatingsite.com properly, you will need to fill in your profile, and it's only when you get to this part that you see any BDSM connected questions. There are BDSM and spanking preferences, though I must admit I pulled a sour face at all the spanking preferences. They are very prescribed and read like someone's teenage fantasy list. For example, there's a question about what gets you in the mood for a spanking/what turns you on about it? There's no way to add your own answer, and the tick boxes are things like 'watching spanking porn', 'being told to assume the position' and 'being surprised and taken without warning.' I didn't identify with a single option there at all. Although you can specify if there's anything you specifically want to use for a spanking session when answering the next question.
As I looked around kinkydatingsite.com, I also found that I had several tags associated with my profile and one of them, because I chose 'married' when signing up was 'Cheater'. Not very sex positive or polyamory friendly, really! You can remove all tags once you're signed up though, there are instructions on how to do it in the site FAQs.
Kinkydatingsite.com is quick to load and easy to navigate, full of all your typical dating site features, your only limitations being what kind of membership you have, free members are definitely limited in what they can do.
There really isn't much of a community feel on kinkydatingsite.com. It is all about the dating and personal connections between users. This is great if that's all you're looking for.
There is a status update feature in the right-hand sidebar beneath a swathe of adverts. I actually missed this all together on my first visit as it isn't very obvious. It is filled with people advertising themselves and what they're looking for. It doesn't seem to be used for actual conversation, and you can only see the last few posts. So, the site is definitely kinky, but it's not going to let you chat to other members of the scene to get to know more about your community.
If you're looking for an online community, maybe give the Fetish.com forums or chat a visit as both are filled with kinksters only too happy to talk about BDSM and fetishes with you.
You can use kinkydatingsite.com straight away with only a free membership. You can send 10 free flirts (they're terribly cheesy and sometimes rude chat up lines), but you can't send messages. You can post some replies for free, five I think, but that's it.
However, on the day I first logged on, there was a happy hour from 9pm where you could send messages to anyone for free. It was a Wednesday, I don't know if it happens on any other days though.
To really use the site, you need to upgrade as without an upgrade your ways to communicate with others are severely limited.
Once you find the help section, it's full of handy FAQs. Locating it is quite tricky, though - it is at the very bottom of the screen, in a small menu and called FAQ/Help. It tells you how to change your personal information, how to cancel subscriptions amongst other beneficial stuff. There is also a contact us Link in the same support menu where you can fill in a form mail with various headers to contact someone about any problems you might have.
There are people on kinkydatingsite.com who are genuinely interested in kink. However, communicating with them is very difficult indeed, unless you upgrade your account. Is it worth it? Well, that's up to you. I can't say many unique features make kinkydatingsite.com stand out from its competitors, but it does do exactly what it says on the tin. It IS a kinky dating site.
