Can someone please tell me what legal reason blocks a profile on a dating site and why does the owner of such a profile even join the site?

But, basically - the profiles marked with a € are not viewable to members based in the US - this is to do with the SESTA/FOSTA laws in the US and how this site complies with them. However, should be viewable to everyone else (just, well, the € should give away they are here in a professional capacity) It's complex - but then it's a horrible and shitty law that the US passed. I think it might be worth raising a ticket (help at the bottom of the page) with examples of some of the profiles you can't view and support might be able to find out why. Profiles I can't view are usually ones that have been blocked for breaching site rules or are undergoing fake checks.

I know about not being able to view those profiles but i cant see one named linda1001 too because of legal reasons and just wanted to know why. I don’t usually check American profile as I am not interested and most of the time they are scammers and fake. So this morning I saw 2 profiles which intrigued me, one had a pic of a known model Alison and another one with a pic of someone with her real name on it. But couldnt see their profile due to that reason

ey**** Posted February 8, 2020 Posted February 8, 2020 so; looks like it was just the wrong message displayed - when you go back to that user it now reads "this user hasn't kept with community guidelines and has been blocked" - which probably makes more sense.

Yes, we've seen that once or twice. The 'Legal reasons' message may mean 'decision pending'.

Any site or any sort will attract the scammers and fakes, there's been a few in here over the last couple of months, and most of them not even terribly clever as people seem to be spotting them fairly quickly. I find the Moderators are very fast and efficient at responding, Customer Help (a grave misnomer) take two days - if you're lucky - then half the time don't even give the information asked for. Sometimes they don't even bother to answer.

Vandalslut Posted February 8, 2020 Posted February 8, 2020 If you DO get a response from Customer Help Support, it reads as if it's been typed by someone with an (insert foreign language here)/English dictionary in one hand. And you can't send two questions, seems like it confuses them and you'll only get an answer to one question then the help ticket's declared closed.

There are some legal issues with escorts and Dominatrixes working in America due to SESTA-FOSTA bill, as Eyemblacksheep explained. But this looks like it's down to a profile being blocked or investigated for breaching the rules. We know there has been an influx of scammers since our app launch, and I promise we are taking great steps to reduce and forbid such people from entering the community.
