Anyone have tips, tricks or advice on how to reduce bruising during impact play?

New to this but need help in finding the best way to minimize bruising during impact play

I'd say "don't hit so hard" but it depends on the person and some bruise very easily

I guess some is about keeping control and monitoring and making sure nothing goes above a basic reddening 

However...

what most people do when they wish to avoid bruising is go for play which doesn't bruise so much

Electric Play, Bastinado and CBT are all popular forms of *** play which rarely bruise (and if you ever do bruise from bastinado, it looks like you stood on a plug or something)

One basic tip is that you want to warm up the body parts you are going to hit before going hard on them. Another one is even after warming up to not hit the same spot over and over again but to move the impact over several spots.

Bruising probably happens after your impact play. The skin will redden during actual play. Where/what are you impacting? To reduce bruising, don’t hit hard. Educate yourself to find out what you’re doing, before you start if you’re new. RICE, is a good acronym to help to remind you want to do when signs of bruising appear. Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevate. For the Ice part, make sure you protect the skin that you apply ice to, so you don’t add frostbite to the affected area. Wrap ice (could also be bag of frozen peas) in a towel and apply to affected site, but not for any longer than 15 minutes at a time. You can but a compression bandage from a pharmacy.

To minimize bruising, the most effective method is to apply ice immediately after an *** to constrict *** vessels and reduce *** leakage into the surrounding tissue; this can be done by wrapping an ice pack in a towel and applying it to the affected area for 10-20 minutes at a time, several times a day.

Important points to remember:
Act quickly: Apply ice as soon as possible after an *** for the best results.
Don't apply ice directly to skin: Always wrap ice packs in a cloth to prevent skin damage.
Consult a doctor if: You experience excessive bruising without a known cause, or if you have concerns about bruising related to medication side effects.

The best to do is repeated softer rather than harder. Prolongs the play itself and much much more intense as well. If you take a pencil from the box and not sharpen it but continuously, rapidly, tap, using a slight amount of ***, your inner forearm you will soon understand the difference. Then try the same with the ruler. Start soft and stay that way. My preferences are prolong the play. Increasing the intensity of the overall is much more pleasing to me personally. As for after care, absolutely. Use Arnica. I always have a tube or two laying about. It contains great medicinal properties. A natural anaesthetic and anti-inflammatory. The pleasure/*** lasts much longer with low but repetitive impact. You are much less likely to bruise your partner. As a Dom you must protect your sub. Even from you. Play safe kids.

Protect your sub/play partner from harm. From others, from themselves and mostly, from you. Self control is a Dom responsibility, your partner has zero, they have entrusted you with that.

there's a couple of common reasons I've seen for folk wanting to avoid bruises/marks

the first is if they're in any environment that involves taking clothes off - including stuff like, say, gyms, swimming pools, sports, physio, etc

the other somewhat common one is... they have a partner.  Mind, I know in one case their partner *knew* they just didn't want to see it.

Flogging with thuddy, soft(er) floggers is about all you can do, is all I can think of. I had a babygirl that wanted bruises, but rarely bruises and if she did, she’d heal in a matter of hours. Giving her marks lasting until the next day literally wore the both of us out.

Changing it up so that you are not directly hitting the exact same spot every single time you impact the area is important for NOT getting bruises, if that is what you're actively looking to avoid. Also, rubbing the area with your hand to improve *** flow to the skin between impact helps as well, not just for the sub's comfort but also to prevent the bruising. I don't know how much different types of impact tools make a difference but obviously things with more blunt, hard, or sharp ends are going to be more likely to leave a bruise than something with a softer end.

Wear thin cloths to take the surface bruises. Wider toys leaves mores bruises then thin toys... a paddle for example. Feeling Thud vs sting... wide is thud, sting is thinner. Like a whip vs flogger.

Some people bruise very easily, some people don't. If she normally has a bruise or two on her legs or arms from just bumping into things, then it sounds like she is the type that easily bruises.

You can google supliments that can help strengthen vascular tissues. That will take about 4 to 6 weeks before ypu see a difference, though. But could very well be worth it.

Would also recommend looking up classes at your local dungeon, on impact play. The teacher would be able to watch your technique, and give you appropriate tips, for your style.

To add to things others hang said, firstly bruising lessons over time with impact play. I have a partner and friends who bruise very little now having been hit many times over a long period (and they find it annoying that they can’t bruise like the once did). Secondly, use arnica.

I've played with someone who has a genetic clotting factor. A few things have helped her. Spanking with an open hand to warm the area up, mix up the impact pattern, use wider paddles, if I'm using a flogger I combine it with visual and hearing deprivation. This means I don't have to hit as hard to get the reaction from the sub. Now we're moving onto electro stim. This is perfect for not bruising. Of course, if some bruising occurs, the RICE method is your best bet.
