Doms- Self Care Thread

Same. I walk about 3 miles a day
And run the fourth one. And it does wonders for my mental and physical health. I live in a sunny state and the sunshine and outdoor time really recharges my batteries.
Hit the gym 5/6 time a week , walk in forest or mountain, exploring abandoned place . Make sure to have 20k step a day minimum. Hot and cold shower ..
Baking late at night is my go to when I need to recharge. I enjoy the process and it allows me to clear my head. I love sitting in my kitchen silently just to feel the warmth coming off the oven and to smell the sweet air. Being able to share what I made with those I love is also very rewarding!
I tend to go into my own world for a bit, either watching some shows or playing a game, additionally late at night I do a work out to stay in shape and help my mental well being.

Having a sub is fun, but like you said, a lot of energy goes into this, and having that little time to recharge can be healthy to the relationship.
I’ll add to the aforementioned physical exercise, meditation. 15-20 a day clears out the mind and helps process the thoughts that just hang around in there. There’s an element of meditation to running also.
Judo and bjj helps cleanse the mind. Long rolls and things that capture the focus. Anything that's mentally challenging from puzzles to practicing my knots. Many different ways to recharge and release. Everything in cycles.
My happy place is technology, so from working on some of my equipment to doing a workout routine, I try to find some peace of mind in my own headspace.
For me it's the gym with no phone. I use pen and paper to track when I'm there in my gym journal. Also, having other hobbies helps. Once a week I play pool for a few hours or sports. Both help me disconnect from everything and focus for that moment.
Writing smut really helps me disconnect from my own life from a bit and inhabit a space of my own creation where the possibilities are endless. It’s especially satisfying when I feel deeply connected to my characters and invested in their development through the challenges that I create for them.
I find the practice of grounding to be extremely helpful for me, both physically and mentally, sat with my feet connected to the earth and nature, allows my mind to ease and my body to begin to realign it's energy.

I'm a sadist so I need to cuddle and make sure that my sub is fine.

I also love lifting heavy weights and having mini dance breaks in-between my sets

Honestly, and it probably sounds cliche, but sitting down to listen to a book while enjoying a cigar. Gaming is always a good one. Singing is a good recenter for My mind. Walking/hiking. Journaling. Talking to some like minded souls about struggles and advances, mentoring has always been a huge relaxation/release for Me, I love sharing what I know with others. Providing an ear to someone who is new in their journey, giving answers or some direction is always cathartic. It helps Me work through some of My own sh*t and organize My thoughts.
