Who actually has a proper home dungeon?

So, as the subject title says, who actually has a proper home dungeon on here? And, by proper, i mean, a properly equipped dungeon, not just a few whips hung up in a bedroom. I've always fantasies about designing my own properly equipped dungeon, but then always got put off my the actual real life practicalities of having a room totally off limits besides obviously for play. Or for those that have them, do you generally have them in a cellar or garage?

I chose cellar over garage, due to heating/cooling considerations, as well as the fact that I needed the garage to make all of the equipment for the dungeon. The dungeon is actually behind a bookcase door that opens when a specific book is pulled forward. Instant camouflage.

My spare bedroom is the dungeon for private play and public events. Images are on my profile and under Sensations as a location. It can be converted back to vanilla use for family hosting but 99% of the time it's full of dungeon furniture and storing the lesser toys such as restraints, impact implements, etc. For larger events we expand into the lounge and garage, moving stiff aside, putting down carpet tiles temporarily and so on, but the garage is very much temperature-dependent. Yesterday was lovely; today, when of course I'm hosting, the mercury has dropped considerably. Curses.

Portable furniture is very handy. All of mine breaks down into handy chunks or is light and small enough to carry about the place. This allows me to dump everything in the master bedroom, which guests would never enter, and restore the genteel spare bedroom to its original state. Boxes of toys all go in the loft out of the way until the vanillas have gone. The decor remains vamilla, even in full playspace mode, since it's difficult to explain pastel duvet covers amidst black-***ted walls!

We have plans.  They are legit plans - but it is going to require time and ***.   By "proper" it will be a converted second bedroom - it's not a huge space but it will be converted for play, though may need equipment that is easier to dismantle and store (which, we've already got a few bits of)  But, I've seen people make it work in similar sized rooms.

I think one of the kinda challenges most people have is being able to have a house big enough, with a room they can effectively sacrifice.

Oh wow, that looks AMAZING!!! I can see why it would be used regularly, looks ideal! This is the sort of thing i was talking about, looks really big as well?

Yeah, that's why i mentioned garage or cellar space. My garage could feasibly be converted, i thought of maybe putting a false wall half way down and having it behind there. The added bonus of it being in a garage is having cold floors, and bare concrete walls, which adds to the authentic dungeon vibe!

Sometimes doesn't need to be a big space - a play space I've been in was a one bedroom flat - because it wasn't lived in : kitchen was just a regular kitchen, sitting room and bedroom were two play rooms (bedroom medical, sitting room dungeon) there was also a small storage cupboard which had a cage in

My bedroom is my dungeon. It is getting a little full and can be a little cramped but contains almost everything I desire except for a fuck machine and cage.

I have one. One of my basements (carpeted, with drop ceiling) is the size of a large living room. I have colored strip lights all over, a cross my massage table for fireplay, shelving cubbies for all the electricity toys, anal toys...I can't even list all the stuff). A bed. A dresser full of sexy clothes for women to play dress up. Homemade tasteful posters of people I know all over, including one with the dominant's creed, and one with the submissive's creed. 2 fuck machines, a sybian, a Symbian milking machine, four ceiling anchor points for my swing (and rope if I was any good at it😅)

I'm probably forgetting stuff too
