New to exploring the scene seriously. I’m a brand new baby dom and I have no idea how to get started.

I’m in an open and I have full consent from my wife. I currently do not have a play partner.

I’m FTM in the south and I care about safety.

Is being involved in local community and parties the safest way to learn to be a safe and sane dom?

It doesn't hurt. You will have access to people who will likely be willing to assist. Plus you will likely have the chance to watch and learn

One of the best ways is to attend local munches, get to know people and them you in a safe vanilla setting, feel free to ask questions, people will soon help you out with information you require.  Plus they are a good safe intro to the scene before making that first giant leap.  

There will be people from a wide range of experience and disciplines, it's always better hearing it first hand than just someone typing over the internet.
