Munch Notes/Agenda – Real life Munches 101 - 25th February 2021

1)     Intro. Hope everyone is well

          A bit about me:

-         I’ve been active on the local kink scene circa 7 years

-         During that time I’ve taken over the running of a munch.  DJ’d at a local fetish night. Have an award-nominated blog. Oh, and my own clip store!

 

2)     What actually is a munch?

-         A social gathering in a public location, like a bar or restaurant

-         These will be open to newbies as well as people who are regular

-         Basically just like friends socialising.  The friends just all happen to be kinky!

-         Whilst conversation topics might vary wildly (it’s easier to connect when you’ve more in common than kink) it’s still a safe place to discuss kink

 

3)     Has anyone previously been to an in-person munch?

-         Some people had, some hadn’t, some hope to when they restart

 

4)     If munches return later in the year, do you intend to attend?

-         As previous

 

5)     How often might you attend?

-         Some people used to be regular and intend to go back to that, some wanting to ease in to see how things go

 

6)     What should/shouldn't you expect from a munch?

-         You should accept a safe environment with a mix of kinky people

-         You shouldn’t expect play, fetish wear or to automatically go home with a kinky partner

 

7)     Munch do's and don'ts

-         While kink talk is encouraged, to be mindful of discussing outside of the group (i.e. at the bar)

-         To be respectful of others boundaries

-         Unless it’s a private venue, don’t start getting toys out

-         Fetwear usually isn’t appropriate

-         Do join in

-         And feel free to nudge the host if problems

 

8)     Likely topics of conversation

-         Apart from, well, kink

-         TV shows

-         Computer games

-         Current affairs

-         Books or Comics

-         Pretty much anything!

 

9)     What to do if you feel left out?

-         See the organiser. They may well be able to spare some time to chat, and/or introduce you to someone you may have more in common with
