Dude that’s every dating site the girl seems too perfect keeps calling me handsome, I’m like that makes 3 my mom my grandma and you that think I’m handsome, then let’s chat on hangouts or WhatsApp it’s easier there, I’m like idk what’s up on your end but I’m having a easy time chatting here, then I’m like whatever and go to hangouts, by that time she’s calling me baby and saying she loves me, followed by some lies about her dying grandmother who she devotes her life to and that’s why she can’t afford her cell phone bill and if I love her and wanna continue texting her I must pay her phone bill get tf out of here…I’ve seen this 1000 times and still fall for it cause I’m lonely and have nothing better to do

Yep it's everywhere and on all sides. Always stay on site and chat that way until there is know dout. Anyone really interested will accept that and will be happy to chat on site .

I dont think the accounts i met were fake but those that had someone else's pics as theirs, gotta look out for catfishes. I thought only female users had those not a man could be faking his identity as well😭🙏

men often think they're the most hard done by that fakes and scammers are most out to get them

Oh it's incredibly common for men to "borrow" ladies' pics and pose as a woman, some do it to scam, some because it's the only way they can get attention even if it is from other men who are just as desperate - often amuses me to imagine Kevin and Trevor madly sexting each thinking the other is Kirsty or Tabitha!! (With apologies to all the genuine Kevin, Trevor, Kirsty and Tabitha's out there.)

Seems like more than 80% of these profiles are fake/scammers. No one can keep a conversation going past a few messages on here. So disappointed

That doesn't necessarily make them fake/scammers though - it could simply mean they lost interest in the conversation - happens all the time on sites like this.

I’m brand new to this forum, and web site, but have experienced this many times other places! The biggest targets are male submissives, since we want to “prove” we are obedient. Of course an immediate request for *** is a dead giveaway! Sometimes they will string you along for a week or so before coming out with it. Often, if they know what city you live in, they will claim to live close by, but will refuse to meet in person in a public setting. Some will say they are ready to play, but want you to send *** for toys, or to “rent a dungeon”! I’ve seen it all! One even sent me a “slave contract” wanting my personal info INCLUDING A COPY OF MY DRIVERS LICENSE!!! So beware, and be careful! I was burned a couple of times when I was younger, luckily not for a lot of $! Yes, other common warning signs is when they immediately demand you go to another website like hangouts, demand you stop trying to contact anyone else, or make excuses not to have any kind of verifiable contact other that online.

Absolutely!! The hangout request is a big red flag for me! The poor English is another one too.

Seriously avoid Alt folks, don’t even think of it! that’s where most of the fecking scammers live! just joined Fet life, hopefully I have a much better experience chitchatting and meeting genuine like minded kinksters✌️

My first experience ended with me finding out that profile was fake and it was just a desperate guy pretending to be a couple who can host. After a day of chatting i figured out it was just a guy. Be careful who you are sharing your personal photos and info. Coz the same guy was later sending me the pictures back that I unknowingly shared with him. I reported his profile and blocked him completely. It was a bizarre experience.

Im using the same rules I used to have with run of the mill dating apps. Only talk to those with verified profiles, stick to the chat within the app and any immediate requests for photos, phone number, to move off app, will be definite red flags for me. Its great reading what others have used to identify fakes/scams

Thank you so much for this thread! We're new to this and we've only had fake profiles. Some really obvious others much harder to tell. We didn't realise the whatsapp/hangouts thing was a red flag tbh so will be much more vigilant now. We actually thought it would be easier for us as a couple to group chat 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️ we'll keep going although it seems like a really shit system for genuine meeting people 😬

If you want a group chat scenario and can understand why you might as a couple - then if you're premium members here I think you can set up your own private chat room - or alternately if you use one of the username based message apps (Kik or Telegram - although Telegram is more secure) it at least means not giving out numbers and you can easily block/delete anyone that it becomes apparent is not genuine.

Thank you! We've definitely got some learning curves to work out, appreciate the advice. My partner has just realised we haven't actually verified our account so will be doing that once he gets back. Its all new to us but we're eager to figure it out.

The scammers on all dating websites tend to ruin it for the sincere. I have had the same experiences as described by all of you sincere people. The tricky issue, apart from looking out for the red flags, is to try not to miss out on sincere friendships and sharing.

I think that we must all be more patient because what is the actual rush. I have been duped by my own frenzy and overeagerness and rushed in where angels *** to tread. Patience is important because there is an incredible volume of sincere people on FET.
Therefore we must ask ourselves what is the rush !?
It has taken me a while but I have found a very sincere, imaginative and mischievous PRODOMME who hits all the right buttons in the submissive me.

yes, 100%

Especially if done quickly.  (they also need to update their scripts as the app hasn't been called hangout for a while)

Basically in getting you off site it means the site cannot take action against them, and means they can continue to engage with you without risk of account suddenly being deleted.
