I'd say one of the differences is that it is obvious when photos have filters added which is different from outright lying

Filters sometimes come from insecurities - and - like - while penis size can be a male insecurity, no one ever has to disclose their size.

I don’t agree that it’s obvious to all parties when filters are used as everyday I see men commenting on new pics on the news line stating how gorgeous someone looks, when like I said earlier, it bears no resemblance to what the person actually looks like. So while I agree that it stems from insecurities on both accounts,  ( and that’s fine if it does because most people have them) but I don’t agree that it is any different from a guy stretching the truth or their length in conversation. Otherwise if he took a picture of his cock and then filtered it to make it look bigger would that then be acceptable and not a lie?

If you KNOW the pictures are edited and is no resemblance to what the person looks like then there are likely tell tale signs.  And some of this again kinda comes down to male behaviour and how desperate/thirsty they are.  

For me. I think. One of the big disputes on dating sites sometimes is when someone is caught using an older photo.  So, it's like technically them but they don't look like that any more.  And people of all genders can be guilty of that.  Mine on here is around a year old, so I mostly look like that still.  

I think if someone has edited far beyond touch ups is one thing - but - I don't believe this is a common problem.   There isn't really a "make me pretty" filter so it's manual work each photo.  I think more if someone expressly lies about one of their features is one thing - like expressly declaring themselves as slim, athletic or whatever if they think it makes them more appealing.

And there in lies the problem!! I don’t think most of us guys realise that there really is a ‘make me pretty filter’ because we don’t tend to use them but there is another site that people have several profile pics and then further into their profile is a pic that they have had to add to get verified. Unlike here where that is done privately , on there it is displayed on their profile and believe me when I say there are some serious’make me pretty filters’ out there that could make you and me look like super models if what I’ve seen is anything to go by. Like I said this isn’t my problem as I don’t have a small penis or a pornstar one for that matter and I don’t want to get too involved but I do think this is one area where some guys get poorly judged yet women are able to deceive without the same kind of criticism!!
