ki**** Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 I'm really into DIY and want to make a leather chest harness for myself. I'm small build, so it might be good to make it adjustable...Any tips on types of leather to get that won't cut into my skin?
L1**** Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 Have you thought about making it from an old item of clothing that has already softened ? Wider strips of leather would also give more comfort and stitching together to avoid and buckles or studs digging in against your skin and also there are many creams and waxes available to treat and maintain leather in soft and supply condition. I Would be interested in hearing what you decide on and see a pic of what you create!
ki**** Posted May 19, 2017 Author Posted May 19, 2017 Thanks for the advice! I'm still digging around to see what I can find. For the creams and waxes would something for shoes work as well?
Dom4FSub-8398 Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 i made a clothing wardrobe using leather from an old sofa. I was advised not to use commercial leather cleaners as when one sweats , as you will, the skin pores absorbed the chemicals . Best to use real untreated lanolin , or beeswax. both can be mixed with olive oil. it feels rather good .
