We flirted off and on 

I showed you my poems 

Told you my story 

And I laughed at my own oddities 

Sending you jokes in different languages

Showing you the real me 

Marvelling at your personality 

At your strength of character 

At your hilarious sense of humour 

And your uncanny ability to see through me 

Quickly a bond was born 

Of mutual trust, admiration and respect 

I looked forward to our conversations 

My eyes sparkling with delight and interest 

Welcoming and enjoying the times 

We got to know each other better 

Till I realised my strong attachment 

When the man I wished to serve 

Was the same that I’d been conversing with 

I threw myself at you instantly 

Asking for the chance to serve you 

Telling you how devoted I will always be 

To your service.
