Sw**** Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 Ladies and gentlemen I need you to settle a long disagreement - music during sessions.. Yes? No? How does it affect your Sub/Dom space?
Azza0666 Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 how is that even an argument? music 100% enhances the space, now if you are a top 40 listener and you just listen to what ever the radio shoves down ya throat then no, the latest and greatest pop song is not gong to enhance a session, but if you are actually into music, then its an awesome tool that can be used to create a mood vibe or theme for the night. note: its not essential but it is a great tool to use.
Deleted Member Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 Depends on the music....If it enhances the tension then its good... But some music genres ruins the vibe
un**** Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 it really really depends on what music you’re playing because not all music is created equal
ge**** Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 Given it's a subjective thing there is no argument to be settled - it's down to the individuals concerned completely, for some it can be soothing and help focus the mind, for others it will be a distraction, there is no wrong or right about it.
mu**** Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 Not for me. I like the sound of the action so to speak
Cdsub-3144 Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 Personally I prefer no music as like someone already noted and I am the same where I prefer the sound of everything that is going on without music
de**** Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 Personally, i love music. I enjoy it in sessions too. But everyone has different personal preference. If YOU dont like it, you have the right to. If you feel its unbearable, define it as a boundary. There's no "right" or wrong. Just within boundaries.
Su**** Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 Well my partner loves to listen to metalica as she’s caning my ass blue
DarkArts1066 Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 Music - or any kind of noise for that matter, is a discussion to be had between the individuals involved in the scenario. I have played music myself, sometimes just because the mood takes me, - and sometimes because it helps to set the scene. I have played “white noise” - as part of an interrogation scenario, Schubert during a Domestic Discipline session, and Nine Inch Nails in a Dungeon. If there is a degree of focus around verbalisation during a scene, then music would probably be a distraction, and therefore pointless. There are some Doms I know who would say that it is their choice on the day. I would possibly question this approach, because it may be detrimental to the subs’ experience - however, in mitigation, that depends on the intended outcome and the focus of the session.
Sweetestsadist Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 100%, YES! Love listening to music during a scene. I like to beat to the beat of the music. Usually some type of rock. I have my playlist start slower to harder, and fast towards the end. I really like "Unglued" by Stone Temple Pilots near the end. Also, I like really chill, quiet ones for the aftercare.
Vo**** Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 Music is a necessity for me. It helps me connect during the scene. After, every time a song comes on I’ve done a scene to, it reminds me, and makes me happy/giddy/horny. 🖤
Deleted Member Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 It depends on the music. Rock and some metal works for me as well as instrumental music with various ethnic inspirations. But no matter what kind of music, I find that music makes it harder to get into the right mood/mindset and is a distraction in the beginning. But once my mind manages to place the music in the background, it can enhance the experience. Though most of the time, it does nothing or very little for me.
Mi**** Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 I personally like music during a scene but I strongly prefer songs I won’t be tempted to sing along to and music that feels trance-inducing. A Dom I used to play with often had music by Ovo on in the background. I like QsensX, a few instrumental pieces by TwoFeet. As someone with ADHD, music help tune out the distractions of my thoughts, but it can also sometimes become a sensory overload for me, so volume levels are important too.
Deleted Member Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 Music is always welcome, anywhere I am, and no matter what I’m doing!
Deleted Member Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 No, I hate it, it's tacky. Makes me cringe.

The album name was Ovo, the artist’s name is Yaima
Wa**** Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 If it's the right music in the right place at the right time it's an enhancement.
Do**** Posted October 6, 2023 Posted October 6, 2023 Oooh I always have music. I was wondering about this earlier this week actually. I have relaxing music which I like, to make the room feel chilled. But was wondering if I should be playing sexy music. And it might not be music my subbies like. So this is an interesting question.

I think the type of music can definitely be key - cheesy pop songs would be a definite no, but some relaxing and chilled or perhaps dark and moody like Portishead's Dummy album, or Massive Attack would work
ki**** Posted October 6, 2023 Posted October 6, 2023 Noooo it makes me instantly think of a crappy porno and men tend to then go the pace of the music without even thinking about it. Relaxing music I understand but I find it non relaxing. I’d rather hear my partner moan
Pi**** Posted October 6, 2023 Posted October 6, 2023 I use girl punk to help me get into domme space.
