I only use the app via phone!

*you* may only use it by phone

but someone who can potentially screenshot you, might not.

I just make sure whatever I post I'm okay with the world seeing. Even if it's slutty and revealing I keep my tats and face covered or out of it.

Only at around it, really

Interesting problem... I come at it from the other point of view and see it as a valuable tool. Being able to download a photo is the only way to "reverse search" the image to check whether the profile is using a stolen pic, which unfortunately many profiles on here are.

I don't feel very comfortable letting anyone have my pictures on my phone. But then I also make sure to only take pictures in places were no one can figure out exact location.  Also kinda why I'm not hard pressed that my phone seems to have issues focusing sometimes

I find the argument that “people will find a way to do it anyway” is cynical and counterproductive. It's the same as another inflammatory subject in the nation currently, which the simplest solution isn't more verification or stricter rules, but education. This all comes down to consent. Majority of schools don't teach anything about consent, and some guys are even encouraged to "take what they want". And many blame the victim, "well you should've known better", "you saw the dress she was wearing".
See, I never send anyone else's provocative pics, sometimes even if they ask me to, because i don't want their pic to be used by someone else that i gave them to. Because I may consent, but they don't.
But this is just the tip ... Of the iceberg. What we need is more and more consent education. Then, noe of this conversation would even be necessary.

... may ^have consent, ... ... , none* of this ...

I think 6 months down the line it's either been done (haven't heard) or well...

it's not a feature of every dating site and it really is false sense of security.  Obviously any form of victim blaming is never OK - but it is always a risk with posting online.

Of course I agree 100% with education on consent; but most governments seem more hellbent on some form of censorship - and there are too many critics.  That the answer is to start sex education earlier, but then people complain it's sexualising and 'grooming' *** and we need a more adult approach to it.

Until then - we gotta all deal with the cards in front of us.   In some cases, erk, if it's a feature we want and a site won't give it to us, then we need to consider continuation usage of the site.   Fet is a website, which happens to have an app rather than the other way round so there is no complicated work around for someone to save down content.

FYI…In England and Wales the secondary school  “Relationship, Sex and Health Education” curriculum, has been compulsory in all schools since September 2020. It covers a wide range of key topics, including consent, sexual exploitation, online ***, grooming, ***, harassment, ***, domestic ***, ***d marriage, honour-based *** and FGM, and how these can affect current and future relationships.

This can be found in Gov.uk The Education Hub, under what do *** and young people learn in relationship, health and sex education.

Really crazy that the words censored here, are all in plain sight when you use the search facility at the top of the screen on the website.

I really don't like this whole censorship thing

honestly - it's - how can I phrase this. Probably with a heap of asterixes - ha!

But yeah; part of the 'cost' of having an app is having to bend the knee to google and apple's rules - who have their own rules/principles/ideologies/etc on top of assorted government bills about 'safety', access blah blah

And for me it's fucking ridiculous.  I understand the sites own frustrations but there are two very simple solutions.

One : bin the app.

Though, I imagine that will be a no, because it's good for growth, revenue, etc etc

Two : Remove the forums from the app

Which feels over simplified - but I'd hasten that most people on the app have little/no care about the forums anyway - are only using the site as they would any other dating app (fair!) and let people who are on the web (be it on a desktop computer, or accessing the site via their phone i.e. web not app) have a bit more freedom to post words without them being starred out so long as the post is otherwise in the TOU.

Nobody likes it. A lot of folk (fairly) don't understand it.   There has to be a solution which doesn't *** everyone off.

I too found it annoying that certain words like *** or *** is censored. I thought we’re all grownups here aren’t we?

funny you should say that....

like a lot of sites - anyone can sign up here.  I know there are checks if they suspect someone is underage, but there has to be something which leads them to suspect that.   So of course while a lot of pics and vids etc are restricted to people who haven't verified their age (voluntary or otherwise) the written word is currently open to all.
