This is a very good query.

I were part of a nuclear family with dysfunctional mentalities, which aided in and/or entirely sparked my sadomasochism at a very young age.

My personal journey has morphed over the years. I think now I haven’t ever thought of it as separated for myself….

As for fun play time, I usually keep the deeper reasons to myself and desire the physical exacted upon me - but not just without any connection and not for the sake of it and not by any hand, certainly not surface or carelessly engaged.
I wholly dislike degrading, on either side, and I abhor manipulation of any kind, of course, so to think of mental masochism —- what would that even look like?

So, to answer, definitely physical.
Emotion isn’t something I separate out and I feel every thing Intensely.
